I've been working on a site of mine, which Iam trying my best to keep all white hat and decent, with quality content, it has adsense and amazon links on it, and i just checked my amazon account and it made $10 in last 10 days...

What is making me say wow is that a person clicks an amazon link from my site, buys that stuff, and heres the best part, amazon's upsells are so amazing that the person ends up buying 3-4 items and the commission goes into my account.

I wonder how superb would it be to become a vendor on amazon, I wish I were in the US so that I could sell on amazon :o

I make bank with amazon...

Yes... the cookie is only 24 hours... but when people click on the links... they are pretty much buying...
and when you push enough volume its not hard to hit 8%+ real quick...
and the volume is there...

people just trust amazon...... and they buy.

I have made so much through Amazon Associates, whitehat too. The conversion rate is amazing. Such a brandable shopping website. It's a gold mine if you know what you're doing.

Only bad thing is, is the 24 hour cookie, but I still get awesome conversions.

When you are a seller or affiliate for a company..
they give you a special url... a special link to the website.

when people click on that link.... the company in this case amazon
puts a cookie( a piece of information on the visitors computer stating that the visitor came to amazon on behalf of your site) so when the visitor buys something you get commissions for it.

some vendors have a cookie that last 90 days... that means if someone clicks your banner and goes to the vendors site.... they have 90 to return and buy something and you will still get the commission...

BUT amazon... because not long ago.... some idiots scammed them... now they make the cookie only 24 hours in durations....

I recently implemented a method I saw on this site that basically said do some yahoo answers and post your link in them.

Hoping to see some good results

does that even work..

amazon has a strict policy... i thought that the click had to originate from your site... so placing your inks on yahoo answers would not get you paid....
who knows... they might even ban you.... better read up on their TOS

I dont post their links anywhere else, my main motive is to drive targetted traffic to my website, their product links convert by themselves IMHO, and its just a matter of directing the visitor to amazon, once its done then i dont doubt their conversions and upsells, its all about traffic.... my main earner is adsense basically but with the response iam getting with amazon, iam surprised and motivated :D
 
i have a amazon aff. site too.
i think you should remove adsense coz
visitor clicks on your adsense ads and leaving your site.
thats not good right ?

i have made $84 in 2 months. :D

I have adsense on sites that are strictly informational...
I have amazon on sites that review items that people want to buy...


two different types of visitors....

just my thoughts..

read my friend he has adsense and amazon on same site.
so there is chance that buyer clicks on adsense ad and get directed to other site.

for some reason im in love with adsense :p really dunno why... so the adsense ads are above the fold and amazon links are below the article... the site has slowly reached 85-95 UVs a day, so my first aim is to make it reach 500 UVs a day, then i'll split test the monetization methods
 
i am very intrigued by amazon associates. i signed up for an account and have been promoting it on my niche websites but have not made anything through amazon associates yet ( i actually havent made anything!!!! :()

but i see the potential of amazon associates if a site gets enought traffic. i love their onsite widget where your traffic does not have to leave your store and still be able to shop through amazon on the widget

getting traffic should be your first goal, money rolls in by itself

Best traffic is organic traffic, or if you can shell out some cash then Adword traffic, but that wont leave any profit with you.. Ive always seen best results with organic traffic
