Just like the title says, which do you prefer? Wordpress or Joomla? And why?

Wordpress is very intuitive ant it has a lot of widgets so you can customize your site easily. But IMO it's mostly a blogging platform. I wouldn't use it for large websites especially for e commerce or others that involve a large number of categories.
I don't use Joomla anymore because I don't like this type of CMS. It's hard and heavy so to speak. But once you know how to manage it I guess it's a good one.
I prefer Drupal for large sites and Wordpress for blogs.
wordpress joomla both are good wordpress is more better bcoz of free plugins and easy to customize in other hand joomla having quite a learning curve.. go for wordpress its the best
cant count how often i heard that you should use wordpress because its better than joomla ect. In my beginning timtes I really believed that and thought wordpress is somehow superior to joomla or other cms. I even believed the guys who told me that wordpress sites rank better oO.
But in fact its not. Its very easy to use but u cant do much with it. For different kind of projects you need different cms.
If you want to make a blog take wordpress. If you want to make a big content website joomla or typo3 can be good. If you want to have an ecomerce site use a good shopping cart cms. If you want to make a salesletter just use html.
Of course often u can modify the cms for using it for another purpose but most of the time it is better to use a cms which was built for your purpose and you just have to modifiy a bit.
So use the best cms for your purpose and learn it.

Wordpress because Google Love it.
Mixed responses...any more?
my dad goes for joomla, I go for wordpress.
why wordpress? it has so much themes and plugins, I am not sure why go over so much creating your own when you can have them op and running in 1 minute on your WP

IMO Wordpress for blogs or small site cms, Jooma for large cms, Magento for ecommerce (although learning curve was steep for me).
I prefer WordPress. It's just really simple and the plugins are a deal breaker.
i find joomla so incredibly annoying. they want you to pay for every plugin. wordpress is much nicer to work with.
WP is much easier to use. The WP community too is very helpful, and easy to learn your way around. Joomla is very robust but may be overkill depending on your needs.
I prefere WP too. But for a costum made from scratch website I also use dreamweaver. It's a nice lil software!
No Pain No Gain
I think wordpress is more easier, user friendly, lots of fresh and standard themes with many plugins and it set up quickly and can be listed in Google within 2 days. But Joomla is a little bit difficult to handle comparing to WP.
