I don't really see how any particular torrent client could be the problem... Anyone can join the swarm and see who's downloading what. I've been getting heaps of infringements lately too... Bastards seem to have stepped up their game.

so they are now buying out torrent programs, why the heck havn't they bought frostwire or limewire yet ?
meh, i know the new frostwire can handle torrents.

try one of these:

vuze
bittorrent
bitlord
bitcomet
azureus
rtorrent
Qtorrent

.. actually, here is a url to a few

Code:

also, this one supports alot.. including proxies if you need them:

I used to use uTorrent as well and then they updated and installed some toolbar garbage. Have been using ABC [Yet Another Bittorent Client] - seems to be fine so far.

Definitely go with bittorent as your main or backup program, as it's open source and not subject to being bought.

I use Vuze It is the best. Also you can search piratebay and download with Vuze.

it's not utorrent or any torrent client, it's the torrents you're downloading, stay away from isohunt

wait... isn't Utorrent owned by bittorrent ?
every link on the torrent site goes to bittorent's site

Your client has absolutely nothing to do with getting C&D letters. Additionally uTorrent is owned by BitTorrent so switching between one or the other is useless and they were never sold to an outside anti-piracy group.

To avoid C&D letters, stop downloading from public sites, specifically the new releases.

My buddy has this same problem
What he did is he rents a vps where they don't care less about torrents and setup ftp client on the vps and just downloads from there.

Don't use public trackers. Problem solved. I don't mean to be a torrent snob, but that's the way to go.

good grief... just use a vpn and don't use your own ip when using these peer to peer applications

lol wtf? utorrent is a client shit aint gonna do anything but download torrents

ive been downloading torrents for years without any problem until i got on isohunt and fucking ISP shut down my internet just like that, without any warning i was pissed but they gave me another chance and ever since that ive been using VPN while downloading torrents and have no problem at all, i use swissvpn.net

oh and i use utorrent, always have and always will

uTorrent is not the problem, they have been upping the game lately however. Most of your problems can be solved by just downloading PeerBlock and using it whenever you download a torrent. Just make sure you keep the lists up to date and you will be fine.

I thought I knew enough about torrents to get by, but I've heard the term before.

What does it mean to get a copyright infringement? (Who sends it to you, etc)

Let me explain I was only downloading from demoniod and I always use peerblock and download from top members

Ive been using https://torrentprivacy.com/ for about 3 months now and havnt got a single letter yet. I got 3 letters before using it so I guess it works. Its $10 bucks a month but I think its worth it if I dont get any letters.

Also I think Peerblock sucks and doesnt do anything. Ive gotten letters while using it.

bro save yourself $5 use swissvpn.net not only that it helps you with torrents but whenever you want to spam or do some blackhat shit you can use swissvpn.net it doesn't use same IP everytime you connect to it, it changes so it's nice

Vuze(i use the classic config, transmission for linux/mac, r-torrent another option is to seedbox or vpn. You may also want to look into Usenet.
