Default What would be the best antivirus?

So my step father is running his own business (nothing to do with computers), but he obviously has a computer in his office, and he's not really computer-savvy (not at all actually).

He obviously bought a license for Nort0n antivirus as it's known as the market's leader. But he recently told me something like :

"Nort0n is just crap, and it's pissing me off. It pops up every other minute to ask me useless questions (do you want to open this, do you want to disinfect that), blocking my whole computer until I answer (and often I don't even know what to answer). And it also takes something like an hour a day to 'update', eating up so much ressources it's impossible to use the computer during this period."

Okay well you get the idea, and now he's asking me to "remove, erase and destroy" () that shit, and to install and set another, better, antivirus for his office computer (Running Wind0z XP btw).

So I'm asking your oppinion as to what other antivirus I could give him.
(I'm using a mac so I'm not that well informed about wind0ws antivirus)

I need an antivirus that :
- is quality and efficient.
- is easy to use after installation and setting (for a non-comp-savvy person)
- can be set with rules so it doesn't pop up and annoy the user all day long (i.e. "When infection found : 1.Try to disinfect, or 2. Move to quarantine" etc...)
- won't eat up cpu ressources to update (i.e. updates in background)
- oh and also as you can probably see, english's not my mother tongue, I need something that has multi languages support (european languages)

The license's price doesn't really matters (unless it is incredibly more expensive than nort0n, though I don't think this would exists)

I think bitdefender could be good, as I used to use it a looonng time ago when I had once a wind0ws computer, but I also know some famous names like AVG, Kaspersky and others, having no idea which ones are good or not...

Well, any suggestion would be of great help and greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for your answers

I have found two that I can safely recommend to anyone:

Norton 360 2.0

Eset Nod 32 securty

Norton is a bit easier to set up so that it takes care of everything without bothering the user with questions on how to deal with issues.

You might also give Symantec Endpoint Protection a look too. It's pretty streamlined and takes care of everything.

I can't help you on the language question as i have never looked into that.

Kaspersky is the one I have the most trouble getting around. Think about it that way.

You could try Avira Antivir. I use it and its pretty good. I think you can set rules and maybe language as well.

You can check out http://www.av-comparatives.org/ to compare results for different antivirus software.

Nod32 is the best imo. It seems to catch stuff the others miss.

Avira is one. Along with Kaspersky.
These two are the ones that I mostly see on reviews because I searched this before.

i have nod 32, and i run windows defender (its free) at the same time. Norton slows down your computer ALOT... probably a good virus program but it's really annoying.

R!
