Alright, I'm using Host Gator and I'm trying to figure out how to set up an E-mail opt In script so I can build a mailing list.
Are there any free scripts to do this? I'm trying to use a Fantastico tool called "PhpFormGenerator" but I can't get it to work for me. I've never set up a mailing list or "opt in" code before.
Find the copy of interspire email marketer on this forum.. It should allow you to generate a form that will subscribe users to your list.. You can even setup an autoresponder with it so when people signup they will get emailed automagically.
Well, Host Gator's CPanel provides an Auto Responder.
I just couldn't find anything on capturing e-mails but I find it hard to believe since they offer mailing lists so I must be missing something from their CPanel.
If they have an autoresponder, find out how to subscribe people to it. Just email them.....
They don't provide one. I just contacted them through live chat.
Lol.. so they provide E-Mail Forwarding, Auto-Responders, E-Mail Mass Messaging but just not Opt In forms or anything like that so that you can capture e-mails
I only have a small mailing list and the money I make from it would of been eaten up using the aWebers etc so I wrote my own opt in list script.
Visitor signs up, they get a confirmation email, click and they are signed up and details go into a database. Each email I send from there has a unsubscribe link that when clicked instantly deletes them from the database.
Its easier than I thought to put together so may be worth looking into that.
I have a form generator that creates an opt-in form. Since I have a small list I just have it email me when someone fills out the form. I then can respond to them any way I want. It's called web2mail and I think I got it on this forum but may have googled it.
^^^
So your personal reply isn't really warm but due to a lack of automation tools.
