The system has been chocking under a serious system load for the past 20min. Iv been getting a connection error for about that long.

Either DOS related or System load related.

What you can do.

1) SCSI drives. Are you using them?
2) Forum DB. Is it on a second drive?
3) Ram, do you have at least 4gb?
3) OS - Not Redhat i hope, try FreeBSD it can handle thousands of users when your talking about # of users.
4) Are you running eaccelerator, APC or any type of php cache? If not you should be.
5) Is Apache Optimized?
6) Is BH the only site on this box? Hopefully! Hopefully its not a cheapo VPS setup!
7) Your not using cPanel are you? Nasty overloaded control panel. Preferable you should not be running a CP at all. Try lighthttpd or something that much lighter.
8) Is your OS 64-bit, including MySQL?
9) Thought about running the forum on one box while running the DB access on another? You really should.
10) All system related binaries up-to-date? How about sockets and optimization of systctl.conf?

Wow, your spelling is horrible. If you can't pay attention to details such as spelling how can you be capable of managing a high demand server?

Do be nice. Not everyone is a native English speaker, not everyone knows basic trigonometry (just for example).

So i left out the "a" in the title, big deal. Don't be petty! The system here was having load issues and my typing was slow and interrupted when i typed it.

It appeared to me to be a very intelligent and informative post. And he is definitely correct. The forum times out way too much. Thank you for the post.

But I constantly see what the other poster is talking about though. My pet peeve is 'their' and 'there'. 'Their' implies ownership. 'There' is a place. Many people just don't seem to care about the correct usage. I think it makes any poster seem less credible if used incorrectly. I especially like it when they are used in a sales letters incorrectly.

'To' and 'too' are another one, but I won't bother you with that.

Anyways, I'm sure they're handling the problem. Why spam your services? If I was looking for someone to handle my machines, I would look for a professional that doesn't spam forums looking for business.
