RapidShare Premium Cut Backs

DATELINE: July 21, 2008

Bad news for Premium users, the limit has been cut, and is now 4 GB a day. That means a reduction from 50 GB per week to 28 GB per week.

Entitled 'Download-Improvement for Premium-Users' themagician wonders how almost cutting it in half can be considered an improvement.

Plenty of calls for RapidShare to bend the free users over the Premium users even to the point of Premium users asking for money back.

It is well documented on this forum that I am not a fan of RapidShare, especially as there are so many better free services available and so I am still a RapidShare free user and so not affected by this, but if you are a Premium user, it sucks!

Maybe this will encourage BHW posters to post elsewhere, or give a choice of download links between the main players.

Download-Improvement for Premium-Users

July 21, 2008
Due to the significant number of new users who subscribed to RapidShare during the last two weeks, we decided to extend our internal ressources. In order to maintain the best possible performance for all Premium users, we decided to limit the download capacity to 4 GB for each user during this transitional phase. Premium users will be able to save up to 30 GB of download capacity, if the daily 4 GB volume has not been used.

sound like they are running out of bandwidth seem funny why they would drop the limit if more users signed up. You would have thought they would have increased it with the profits earned.

Let me translate this:

We have a LOT of new people giving us money to buy new servers and trunk lines. We just don't want to do it quickly, so all you long time subscribers, have a shit sandwich while we play with our dicks and your money.

Wow never give money to them, they always changing their rules. That's why I stay a free user. Live free, die premium....
