New Windows 2012 better than windows 7

Afew of my friends have been talking about this new windows 8, and from what ive been told ms have a full team working on this unlike the xp to vista, its also ment to loadup and shut down so much faster that we have seen in other windows, the dreaded hang, also there was a few older softwares that still dont work on win 7 but they say all will work on the new version..
