the last message from this user was
let them know that it happened when i logged into the official paypal site. It said it was a random security check. They had the correct ending digits of my bank card and bank account but before i could long in i had to confirm it. They also said i had to change password. I reied typing in my original password but said i could not use my existing password.

I eight years and a lot of accounts I have never had this happen.

I haven't ever had paypal ask me to reconfirm any info and change password.
I would not give out any more info to this person and contact paypal about your account. He might be phishing.

hes a bhw member with 80 posts would seem
odd he would destroy his rep for this
let me see if i can get him to post on this

Hi Guys,

This post is about me.

I logged into my Paypal account in order to make a payment and there was a message saying Paypal were carrying out a random security check and could i confirm some details. They had the last 4 digits of my bank card and asked my to confirm the rest of the numbers as this is the one i registered with them. They also had the last 2 digits of my bank account and asked me to confirm my account.

The next page then asked me to change my password. I thought this a bit strange so just typed in my existing password and tried to continue but it said i could not use my existing password. So i changed it.

They then asked me to provide some answers to a couple of questions (i chose from a drop down box) in case i ever forgot my password.

After speaking with Proxygo on MSN he got me thinking that maybe this was a scam and i had been duped. I logged out of paypal and logged back in using my new password, and it worked.

I then called paypal just to be sure at their Ireland call centre and after spending 5 mins with some robot answer machine getting me to repeat things i was put through to a real person who confirmed Paypal had asked me to change my password. He said they sent me an email to confirm they had asked me, which i have received.

I have never had this happen to me before but i spoke to paypal on the phone and they confirmed it was a legit paypal security check.

well ille guess ille try your payment cupatea
130 odd posts would be odd for a scam
