I know this is not the proper forum for this, but I honestly don't know where to turn. My other laptop got a virus I believe. All the .exe files don't want to start because a windows popup appears saying, "They got infected".

So I opened up this laptop, got Kaspersky, put it on the other laptop. went to safe moad, started it up, it downloaded but its not like 'fully downloaded', like it doesnt appear anywhere on the computer...

I really don't know what to do next....

Get rkill, iexplore, and hostsperm. Dos files that normally stop most viruses to allow you to clean it with antivirus. Worked for me not long ago.

Also, I just read on the site

Note System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos. You can only restore files that you have deleted if you have made backups of those files.

Spellz: Before you try system restore, download rkill on a cd, and let it boot from the disk. It will probably stop the process that is screwing up your system. And it doesn't take long to do either.

Try to reinstall entire system if you don't have something really important there.
But don't backup, because it will spread virus again.

I'd suggest finding a way to get kaspersky and malwarebytes anti-malware installed or at least accessible on the victim computer

Then reboot in safe mode, and do a full scan with anti-malware and kaspersky

You might need to run those apps (or similar apps) from a usb flash drive if that's an option for you, here's a couple links regarding portable versions of some security softwareI found via the Big G:

http://www.techmynd.com/10-best-portable-anti-virus-anti-malware-tools/

http://thepcsecurity.com/portable-antivirus-best-free-anti-malware-in-usb-flash-drives/

Good luck.
