I know there are a lot of proud parents on the forum (and most of us are going broke one day at a time taking care of them : )) Well today I thought my daughter may have been getting a little sick so we went to get a new thermometer for her little bum, and I immediately remembered to grab a Johnson & Johnson's just to read the back and sure enough, there it was:

"Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested and then sanitized"

Let's all just take a moment, breathe, relax... no matter how stressful parenthood may be, how tedious internet marketing can get, however flawed your code might be...

At least we're not shoving thermometers up our asses for money

lol, that made me laugh. As a parent of 2 girls I never liked the rectal deal, I prefer the under arm method...easier for everybody. Plus, there is not enough money in the world for me to use on anyone after it has been "tested", no matter how much they sanitized!

I use an infrared thermometer that you run across the carotid artery. It gives a fairly good temperature reading, you can at least tell if your kid has a fever.. My wife seems to be the human thermometer and can rattle off a pretty exact temperature..

Nice, We had an underarm thermo, but it kept giving us about a 1-1.5 degree difference than the good old but plug.. lol

Most of my experience as a parent, I trust on what God already gift to us.
If I feels it's warm, time to act. Don't wait to get high accuracy thermometer.

That is because an axillary thermometer (underarm) reads roughly one degree cooler than an oral thermometer or a temporal (forehead) thermometer and roughly two degrees cooler than a rectal thermometer.

(I am a nurse in my other life...lol.)

LOL, Just because it says Personally tested doesnt mean they are tested in the same way you and me would use it.
The testing they are put through is a process that involves testing them through a designated range of temperatures, probably
99% of the time through machines that heat liquids up to a chosen temperature then vary it. That company is huge so they must make thousands if not millions of these a year.
Testing on a human they would roughly get varied temperatures of the testers.
And this would make it very off.
Either that or they would probably need to employ a lot of sick people.
Ones that like putting a thousand thermos in there bums daily.
Aside from that im guessing theres a law that disallows the sale of items that has been put in someones ass.

lol baaaa don't ruin it for me, i am sure i could of had a few people with the mental images of a lineup of people bending over testing these Thermometers from there arse
