Just wondering why when you post in some sections your post will show up on the home page, and in others they dont?

I just made a thread in white hat seo > link building and it didn't get published on the main home site...

I am sure my question will get answered, but, I also know it would get answered a hell of a lot faster when it has all the eyes looking at the homepage glancing at it.
