Are most IMers introverts? Are you introverted or extroverted.

I think the internet disproportionally benefits introverts. It lets us remain withdrawn, yet connect at the same time. And the written word vs. verbal communication clearly benefits introverts.

Introverts also tend to have higher IQs and have more creativity, due to introspection and internal reasoning skills.

So, which are you, introverted or extroverted?

I don't believe in these simplicistic classifications.
I feel sociable among people i like, I want to be reserved among stupid, dumb, fucking idiots. Our environments affect our behaviour.

I agree with this. You put me around intelligent people with something interesting to talk about and ill be as extroverted as anyone.

Put me in the typical bar surrounded by drunken idiots and I have no patience for those coversations. Id rather stay at home on my computer or with my girlfriend on the couch.

I used to be a bigger extrovert, but ive become much more introverted since I have gotten a little older (34).

Totally agree. I used to be much more of an extrovert when I was younger, hanging with many crowds. I now would rather spend my time making money online and hanging with my girl, and daughter, or a few friends, than socializing with a bunch of retards at a bar, or party.

I do talk to many people because I sell online advertising and marketing, so I wouldn't classify myself as an introvert. Just don't socialize as much as I used to.

I am an extrovert but feel what you guys are saying, i feel i am in a 'higher plane' when conversing nonbiz people. I do not feel superior but maybe i see how mindsets affects people and how they go through life and I don't want to hang out with people like that anymore.

So less drinking, more working out, playing frisbee and just working/traveling for me. I hang out with the right people though and keep my ties with close friends.

Quality people is what i'm looking for at the moment.

It really depends on the situation. When it comes to me trying to do research or get information from someone, I am very extroverted and inquisitive. I also have an easy time in the marketing world because I get it and people here are easy to understand. However, when it comes to talking about socializing and what everyone else is doing I am pretty introverted. I definitely have my own agenda and it seems that it is a bit off track from what most others are interested in. Especially when it comes to work.
