The guilt really begins to set in. (Need some feedback)
I'm not one to write about personal life on forums but i needed to get some feedback on this.
So my stepdad left my mom after 17 years of marriage about 2 weeks ago leaving a 11 year old son and 14 year old daughter. My sister (18) left home about 2 months ago, she's going to school and needed to get closer to the campus.
My mother never went to college and study for a job that she could be self-defendant and not rely on the man of the house. Now that my sister and stepdad have both left she's constantly crying, but the bills are still rolling in and i had to make a decision to help put food on the table and a roof over their heads.
So I've gotten accepted to get my CDL to drive for a company for a year to pay for the tuition. I'll be gone for 3 weeks and hitting the road after I get the license. I'll be out 2 weeks and home for about a day which the company i'll be driving for say i'm guaranteed to be home 4 days a month.
But I have to say that the guilt is really hitting me since i'm leaving my family, but what else can i do? The job market here has gone to shit...there's nothing anywhere around and truck driving is really my only option.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: The guilt really begins to set in. (Need some feedback)
The best advice that I can give you is to stay strong. The four days out of the month that you are home, take videos and photos and such. Get the pictures developed and take them with you, putting them on the dashboard of whatever cab you're driving to remind you of the good times to come and the good times that have already come and passed. Being away from home for long periods of time can be tough, trust me I know (college far away from home), but it's the time together that counts the most.
Bring a laptop with you and save up for a Verizon wireless card if you don't already have one or are planning on getting one. Keep marketing and learning and posting here on the nights spent in the cab or in a hotel when you have some free time. Multiple modes of income is the best way to go.
And best of luck to you in your future. I hope that everything works out as you may have dreamed it to have.

Get serious about Internet Marketing and you can work from anywhere.
Edit:

You're doing the right thing. And I have to second what the previous 2 said. Get serious about internet marketing and bring a laptop. Don't worry, now that you have to work your ass off, things will fall into place.

Thanks for the input guys.
I am 100% serious about internet marketing. I just haven't hit the spot where i'm making enough to actually not have to work. Pretty sure me being on the road away from family will give me the boot in butt i need to get stuff going.
Thanks again for the support!

Another thing that I can suggest to you as far as the continuation of marketing route is to purchase a cheap voice recorder. You can tape it to the dashboard and press record whenever you think of something good. Then transcribe the notes later and implement them. I find this useful for when I go on long drives and I come up with ideas generating from billboards and such.

I agree with the above posts completely! Keep up the im with a laptop and card while you are earning money your family desperately needs. The photos' are an excellent idea!

Things are never as horrible as they may seem.
Here's my pessimistic viewpoint If you take everything from the worst possible perspective in the back of your mind, the ending result will always be better than or exactly what you expected. Quite the concept, no?

Hey, I think that you are a legend stepping up to the plate and not expecting that things will just fall into your lap.
You obviously have a strong work ethic and with this sort of sense of attitude you will go far.
Like others have said here, take a laptop, keep at the IM and you *will* succeed.
I wish you all the best

I hate to beat a dead horse but I agree with the others. IMO you're def. doing the right thing even if it does mean you have to be away from home. You gotta bring in the bill money no matter what ya know?
Very good job steppin up man seriously, guilt shouldn't be on your mind, that just shows how humble you are. Your family is grateful and proud I'm sure,
don't forget your laptop when you hit the road buddy.
Good luck with everything!

You can keep in touch with her several times a day if need be.
When she gets her first money from your new job she will understand.
Maybe get a unlimited communication Cell phone laptop etc, with your first check and give it to her.
She is very fortunate to have such a great son.
Also, remind her that it's not a permanent situation.

Right on man. Way to step up and take care of family. Get a laptop (if you dont have one already) and use it for IM when you stop into cafe's etc that have free wifi. That way you can continue to at least do some reading here and there when you get the chance. The tape recorder idea is brilliant as well.
That much time on the road your mind is bound to wander outside of its normal box.
Try to realize the truth: There is no box.

Re: The guilt really begins to set in. (Need some feedback)
I admire you, you're a good man, and once you have used the voice recorder for awhile and have the laptop, verizon, and some money rolling in, I'd say get a virtual assistant ("VA") in the Philipines who can take direction by telephone (or VOIP) and make sure they are someone who will work while you drive. You might have to go through a few VA's to get the right one, and you might have to only employ them with menial tasks like bookmarking or reading email to you (and responding for you), blog commenting, ad posting, and social media tasks, but you will get more work done that way. Outsource everything that you can. I personally do not have good luck with voice dictation software (dragon naturally speaking is available through BHW) but "your mileage may vary".
There are several threads here on VA's and the consensus seems to be that Filipinos speak better English than Indians in general. I use odesk.com to find and manage my VA's since they have software that lets you track the work they have done. I use skype for voice and video chat, and I pay a percentage of their pay off of odesks books. That way they receive credit for the hours they work on odesk, they get higher pay rates, and money is not wasted on odesks fees. They want credit on odesk because if odeskk tracks their hours it shows other prospective employers that they have experience doing whatever it is that they do.
I know it's tempting, but stick to the methods on this site that are not obviously illegal since you can't afford prison time or even legal fees/fines. And don't forget to "call Mom" frequently while you're gone. She apparently needs some encouragement and attention.
Best of luck to you, man.

What are you feelng guilty about? I don't know how old you are but you're doing what a MAN would do. You're taking care of your family in the only way (or I should say the best way) you know how at this time. Take the driving gig, help your mom straighten things out on her end until she can figure out what SHE needs to do to help HERSELF. Then....get back on IM work.

You've taken the right decision. Helping your family and putting them ahead of your personal goals speaks volume about yourself. What will you do from now on is totally up to you. You can see this as a curse or as a golden opportunity since you could be putting quality time towards IM when away.
Good luck to you.

Re: The guilt really begins to set in. (Need some feedback)
Thanks again guys! I know i sound like a broken record but this does help me out ALOT!
I met up with a friend who is going to put me in an MLM company with him, but he doesn't advise me to do the trucking gig. Now i'm no salesman, i can do IM online but he's straight offline marketer and wants me to take it online. He has almost $1,000,000 in volume, we just have to make sales on the other side and it spits out a check and split the profits.
I'm going to take his offer as well, since i KNOW i cannot make the cash needed to pay the bills for now but i will put out flyers at truckstops about the product which i know works...because i use it
maybe make some sales while out on the road.
I will have to drive for the company for a year, if i terminate early i have to pay them the tuition money back which is about $4,000. Also, trucking companies are pretty bad at putting bad reports on your DAC (i think is what its call) file so the trucker has a very hard time getting another trucking job.
All these ideas are SUPERB and i will take action and get my recorder and a laptop as soon as possible. I do have a mac laptop but no knowledge so i can't really use it, but i'll sure try.
Thanks again everyone, i'll post back once everything goes down, hopefully i'll pass everything and get the job.

Thought i would give an update (if anyone cares lol). I've made it my first week here and starting into my second. I must be incredibly stupid to not get this logging stuff, i just cant really grasp it, but i can't fail so i'll hit the books and learn this.
Just thought i'd post if anyone was curious, i'll keep updating.
Homesick as hell right now....kinda tough being away from home but you have to do what you got to do to provide for your family.

Re: The guilt really begins to set in. (Need some feedback)
So i got my CDL 2 days ago and leaving for home tomorrow. I'll be locked into a contract for a year unless i buy it out, but i'll be working on my BH/GH/WH methods so that i can provide a nice living for my family while trying to start my own.
I'll post back as soon as i get back to my house which is about a 16 hour drive. I'm very eager to get businesses up and going so that i can afford to buy out my contract and provide for my family and start one of my own. Thanks again for all of your support, it really means alot to me.

I'm proud of you man. Very good advice has been given already and I will say too: Make the next 11 months set you on the right path for the rest of your life. If you are willing to do for 1 year what other people are not, you will be able to enjoy for the rest of your life what other people won't!
Stay strong and remember: this is the end of your misery!
