Is it possible to rank high in google without adding new content?

What if you just have 2 or 3 posts in there but you did a lot of link building through commenting blogs, etc, could u rank on the first page?

Yes definitely. I have plenty of one page minisites on page 1.

depending on the competiton, you can rank without any backlinks at all.

YES I have one [page sites I have not touched ever and they are 1. So ignore the BSer's about content.

Backlinks are king. All of my sites have very poor content. I do not write articles for my main sites. The average is 100 pages with 3 sentences per page, or less. They mostly rank on the first page thanks to backlinks.

Most of my 1 post sites rank good in the SERPs, Bing seems to be the most friendly one, followed by G and Yahoo.. BL's are king and relevance + keywords are key.
