ESET NOD32 is absolutely the best... 2nd might be Kaspersky, but I havent used it in 4-5 years.

Yes, its Nod32. I was doing tech support for Comcast Internet a few years ago and had an IT guy on the line (one of the higher ups that actually knew what he was talking about) and found that Nod had rated in at an easy number 1 due to effectiveness, resource use and some other jargon I didn't catch. Been using it ever since. Its easy to get a patch for it too
my 2 sense

It's not a question, it's a personal view on each software, but I'd have to say the two most spoken of anti viruses in this kinda topics, nod and kasper.

Re: What do you think is the best anti virus software?
I have trend micro and it never picks up anything! I've gotten tons of terrible viri and it hasn't been able to detect them and when it does, it can't clean them. I also use malware bytes which is pretty good and super anti spyware free edition which is good as well. When my trend micro AV subscription expires I'm thinking about getting Nod 32

Re: What do you think is the best anti virus software?
Since I started using Eset NOD32 about a year ago, I have had no problems whatsoever.
I believe that NOD32 and Kaspersky are the two best antivirus/antispyware apps.

Re: What do you think is the best anti virus software?
I've given serious thought to migrating to NOD32 after all the good things I've heard about it. I have been using AVG for a few years now and it does a great job, best I can tell.

I am aware of this, but if you use *nix you no longer have to worry about which antivirus is the best. It was irrelevant to the topic but I couldn't help myself. :-\

Just becaues you use *nix, it doesn't mean you don't have to worry about anti viruses. LOL.
