Should BlackhatWorld Close?
To the public, before anyone asks.
With the referral competition going on, it seems ironic that I should bring this back up on the agenda.
We all can see the amount of threads in numerous sections (particularly the Making Money subforum) being clogged with the most shameful threads, such as paying $5 for 2000 traffic.
I don't propose closing down forever to all public, but maybe reducing the amount of people coming in, just looking for an ebook and moving on, or selling methods posted by members.
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...ml#post1254963
That should make it a bit clearer.
But really, maybe its time for another vote.
If anyone has got any other ideas, post them in.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
to OP, it doesn't matter.
If you were the site owner and you had a top 1000 alexa website would you close it off?
Not likely, not very likely

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
there is already a closed forum, Jr Vip. and Ex. Vip
why do you want to limit new ideas coming into the forum?

I'm not asking for permanent closure to public, it's so that people don't just come to BHW for ebooks, begging, spamming, and those blasted Digital Point users.

To break down that analogy: as long as your body can sustain blood production, there is not a problem, except major injuries.

I have an idea, stop making polls/threads like this and leave it up to the owner/mods to decide when a vote is needed.
And how is paying $5 for 2000 traffic a shameful thread that leads to closing the forum to the public?

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
As someone who is new(ish) here, I thank God I found this site! Many of the boring, repetative posters seem to post then bugger off. Not many stay any length of time and if they do at least they may get educated. I think the 2 private areas are enough and we should leave the moderators to jump all over the "how do I make xx by yy" posts and all that sh1t! Just my 0.02 cents
Oh and if you take a look down the membership lists starting at "a" you will see a lot of registered members don't even get their posts into double figures, suggesting they post crap, don't get the instant money making ideas gifted on a plate and so FCUK off.

No it should not close, there are idiots with money, and paying would lift a barrier to fresh blood.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
Honestly a small signup fee could be the solution to this, something small say like $5-$10 dollars
then the people that really want to be here and contribute will get off their asses and do some
work to make a little cash to get a membership. This would obviously benefit the owners as well.

Stupid is stupid, just because they are on DP does not mean they are stupid. I have met some talented programmers there.
Cant say the same about those that run it.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
You do realize that this shit has been discussed numerous times?
We have an owner, two administrators, a handful of super moderators, two handfuls of moderators and even some moderators in training, not to mention some Ex VIPs and Jr VIPs who have been here a long while now. Rest assured that if change were needed, they would be on top of it.

i think 75% of people here will just read and read and read. they will never do anything so you don't have to worry about saturation.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
For members who spam BHW with such useless thread with a title that misleads other members, ... yes BHW should ban such members immediately --- even if such thread is in the Lounge.
Such threads devalue the purpose of having a Lounge. No BHW member has the right to write a title (and/or content) that sends wrong message to others, especially by using this site's name anywhere in it.
This site has given you many opportunities, opened many windows, good members here have given you a lot of things free, and 'whatnots'. Be more useful to the community than opening a meaningless thread that itself proves why you need to stay away from your PC. When you write a thread, think whether it will hurt or anger other members here.
Your poll means absolutely nothing to me.
Wasted all my day's fun by writing here.

Exactly. The vast majority of people will never take action and implement what they learn here or elsewhere. And even if a method becomes saturated after a while, just put a spin on it, twist it a little and make it your own method.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
why start a new thread? there are hundreds of threads like this already

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
This topic was brought up by the admins and basically polled to us very early this year. Back then this place was steadily getting more people, nothing major. We all basically agreed that we should keep it open and free.
OPINION: Personally, I feel the more people that join, the more blackhatworld.com feels like a business and we're all operating for someone rather then operating together. I want that poll reopened because I believe it will be a very different response. But as someone stated earlier, the site owner will most likely not close off a top 1000 alexa site.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
i believe BHW closing to the general public and being invite only would be a good method or maybe paying a fee or something, i made so much just by what i have learned from BHW, and its time that i give back a little more than what i have, but, im not forced to, basically, if i had to pay, i would do it.

-
Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
some kind of fee or invitation only would be good, just like demonoid the always had good content and I think the quality of post would be better.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
I think Dave, HaRRo and Po have it pretty well under control. Yes there's been an influx of leeching and crap threads started, but they're putting more mods in place to weed out the trash. A personal thanks to all of the mods in training because I have noticed a difference.
There's obviously a reason they haven't closed it off and starting thread after thread about it isn't going to influence that decision IMO.
If you want in with my two favorite CPA networks shoot me a PM and I'll get you in. No cost - just don't send any CC fraud shit. Weekly payouts with $1K a week in leads

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
Here's what I think. You are insecure about your online earnings and you are scared of competition. Seeing that you joined a year ago and you only have 62 posts, I would assume your leeching more than you are sharing so why would you deserve to be in a private forum rather than new people who may have some great ideas.

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
There are paid sections to the forum. I'm not so privileged, so I can only speculate what goes on in there (I imagine it to be something akin to that scene in "Dude Where's My Car?" where they are lip syncing to Run DMC by the pool). I'm sure, however, that given the fact that you have to pay your dues (and a little cash) that those sections are cleaner (free of generally useless posts), and more helpful.
Sure, a small subscription fee would deter would be pains in the asses, but there are people here who make money off of them. Why change the dynamic. If you are tired of particular threads, don't read them. It's really easy, just ignore it and take solace in the knowledge that if it's spam, or if it does not belong, that the ever vigilant mods will take care of it.
People get so worked up about the most petty shit sometimes...

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
Everyone starts off as a noob. I wouldnt have paid $10 to get here in the first place. How would i know what is in here?
How about, you pay $89 yearly once you've been here a bit and you know what its all about and you want to be among a semi-elite. O wait.....

Re: Should BlackhatWorld Close?
Must be the start of a new month, here come the 'close the forum off' threads and polls.
Give it a couple of days and the November wave of noob bashing will start for a couple of days and then it will all go quiet again til the start of December.
If something is working why close it off. If you don't like reading certain threads then don't, simple as that.
Yes there is a bit of shite in here, but like every medium / large forum on the Internet will get that. Get over the stress of trying to hide the latest forum you have found and go make some money.

This got my attention (thanks redtide for opening my eyes a bit), but this next one sealed the deal:

OK, I take back partially what I said - Nearly all of DigitalPoint users are :
a) Idiots
b) want a "press button to make money" button
But As you've said, there are some exceptions.
The closing of download section would be good, but also bad for the occasional gems.
So maybe a 60-90 day period before accessing the member download area?
Gets rid of those just wanting to leech the latest ebook from DP or Warrior or {insert guru's name here}.
It sounds better, and should go well with EVERYONE (plz)?
