Is their an effective software program to mass PM a forum?

I've heard that Xumer will do that.. but, I've been using the Xrumer 3.0 and every forum comes up with the error: "Unrecognized" or "Memberlist failed".

Have the forums caught on to all of these programs and they are no longer
effective? Just wondering if their is a program that really does the job.
