So I have 7 landing pages made up for 7 primary keywords.
Now, I want to get those up in google obviously for those keywords. They are just single page landing pages, but I'm thinking about setting up wordpress blogs in subdomains ie url.com/additional_keyword_string and then have RSS content pertaining to my industry fed into the blogs.

Do you think that would help or hurt my efforts?

What are the best tools to find out what my competitors are doing in terms of where their backlinks and anchor text are etc?

Thanks so much!

Onehotbish,

The example you have for a sub-domain isn't consistent with the structure of a sub-domain. You would want it to look like keyword.url.com. If you want your pages to rank well, build links to them and make sure the content is useful/helpful/entertaining or in some way appealing so that people will want to keep coming back to those pages for whatever reason.

You could use third party tools like open site explorer, link assistant or software like that to check your competitors backlinks and other data. You could also just use search operators to check out some of those things.

Best,

Shawn
