My website is an authority website in some niche.. im talking about over 1500 pages, real pictures, real content written by an in house team, ranking for hundreds of keywords for the last 5 years..

Now my competitor shoes up, and what im seeing from analyzing his backlinks is, most of hes backlinks are coming from the most shititest website i have ever seen.
Im talking about 70% of his backlink profile is from poland - the pages are in polish and everything !%!
The weirdest part is, i cannot seem to find the backlink in these pages and/or page source.

This is the first time i come through with something like that, and this guy outranks me for my most competitive keyword, and a high competition one..

Does anybody knows what is going on here ?!

please help as im clueless and breaking my head over this !

He probably showing there for a couple of days and drops down. Happened to me before my brand new site outranks other authority sites and I was using xrumer lol.

About First Part : As it's a starter site so it gets a bonus in serps and will vanish after awhile

not necessary there are link exchange systems where you buy points and you can place your link on a websites within a system for a short period of time and then it is replaced with others

Things are starting move faster and faster on all the money-making niches. Your competitor didn't hacked anything. He invested in sape Links.

Give it some time, I believe you'll get back to your previous position.

Guys.. first of all, he is not a new website.. he is somehow ranking for multiple keywords for the last 2 years.. but never past me..
the website is up for a few years or so and actually an offline business..

What REALLY bugs me is that there is no actual link on the backlinks !! im checking with Aherfs, OSE and everything.. go to each page and view the source code.. NO BACKLINK TO HIM.

What the HELL ?!

I've found that LUCK has a lot to do with ranking in google these days. I try to create quality sites that I know google would love, but they are always hit and miss when it comes to ranking in the SERPS

Sape or something like it. Link exchange network and while the basic idea behind it is that webmaster voluntarily submit sites, I would not be at all SHOCKED if they have several hacked sites. For this reason it will be difficult to uncover all together. Google can come in detect all the footprints and sites and in a month new websites will show up on the network and new sites will be hacked.

What MAY happen is that the one using the site gets slapped but then they just start all over until they get caught again, its a cat and mouse game for sure.

Anyway, just do what you do. If you have a real biz and the others dont you will still get the bulk of the orders eventually.

Well, sometimes it happens, looks like according to SEO stats your website should outrank it but for some strange reason it doesn't, you never know because if you would then you'd be a millionaire lol. That's why I'm aslways preaching the theory of website promotion instead of blunt SEO for few money keywords. Any douche site can outrank me but I don't care since I'm getting twice as much traffic from longtail specific search terms. Food for thoughts.

This is not sape links, in Poland this exchange system is called "rotating" system. With new refresh script is download new pack of links from .txt file, and new one with new links in 24h or 36h, depends of system.
These systems have been popular in Poland in 2008, they had quarter milion domains, now they have 30-50k.

Or maybe the links were there when Google found them and cached them but since than they have been remove, also it can be rss feeds or those little chat boxes on the side of a website where you can leave your link but over time your link gets deleted by someone elses links.

There is no doubt in my mind in spite of G's denial that there's been some major tweaks to the algo in the past week. Honestly, it'd be wise of them not to announce it. SAPE links are all the rage lately, but I am confident it's only a matter of time before this network is infiltrated and deindexed. Now before someone says they are not the same, I am aware... But many believed public blog networks were untouchable and a sure fire thing. Maybe I'm paranoid (better safe than sorry) but if you can buy it on a public forum and it's open I everyone Google can and will take them down. Their resources far exceed all blackhats combined our best defense is to fly under the radar. Don't worry about this guy he will crash and burn soon enough
