Default How to determine what is the most relevant page on your site for a keyword

I'm often trying to tweak landing pages for each of my target keywords in order for Google to rank the inner landing page instead of my website homepage.

It can get quite tricky when trying to rank a landing page for many keywords. One way of easily checking what is the most relevant page of your website fr a keyword is by making a search in google.

    site:yourdomain.com keyword phrase

This way allows you to easily check which are the most relevant pages of your website for this keyword and hopefully allow you to see some of the changes you might need to make in order for Google to rank it instead of your homepage.

I have a hunch that using site:yourdomain.com inanchor:keyword will display pages which are recognised as having anchor text with your keyword pointing towards them. If this is true then you can check what pages show the most relevancy for your keyword through anchor text too.

Thanks for the handy tidbit! I have seen very similar tips like this in guides around the forum, but it doesn't detract from the fact you put the time in to share ^_^

Thanks. I've been having a few relevancy problems on one of ym client's websites and i wanted to find out which pages of my site does Google prefer for my target keyword. It was just a hunch but i think its probably right.
