The thing is,they use crawlers to check the content of your email so they can deliver better ads.It's not like a real person would read trough your emails.
Beside that,it's a free service and your mailbox actually belongs to google if you read their privacy policy.

Anyway,microsoft done a strong blackhat campaign in my opinion

Funny to see Microsoft uses a Google channel to send out a hate commercial about Gmail. And Google lets them!

and they're pretty good at it, i have never seen more targeted ads than in my gmail
that's partly because my adblock is enabled on other places ROFL
