I am wanting to cloak my affiliate links securely but I have tried using an iframe cloak and it has been not allowed by some sites (i.e. they don't allow their site to be displayed in a frame), and also a method that drops your aff cookie and goes to the bare URL of the destination site (i.e. no affiliate link), but with this method I know it's not compatible with all affiliate networks.

Of course I want to tidy up my URLs, but I want to secure my affiliate link as well. I don't mind about the referrer unless, er, there is some reason why I should scrub it?

I've been looking at WPLinkEngine which offers the following 'cloaking' methods:

302 redirect, 307 redirect, single meta refresh, double meta refresh, javascript redirect, iframe, and something called a 'guaranteed wipe'.

My question is what would be the best cloaking method for my needs? I'm not doing anything blackhat really, just want to tidy up and secure my links.

I would have asked at other forums but I feel BHW members, for obvious reasons, would be better at link cloaking :-)

Im researching the same thing today.

I need to find out what works TODAY. In the past Ive used either a WP plugin redirect or I just buy a domain and do a 302 redirect.

What is the best way to cloak your aff links so G--gle doesnt see them???????

should I add the new content, post it, wait until it gets indexed, then add the redirect aff link?

I have a pretty strong feeling that one of the ways G--gle is hitting all the affiliate sites is because they figured out a way to detect the actual affiliate links. I dont want this to happen to some of my new sites.

I understand using a cloaking plugin like prettylinks to create "nice looking links" but this is not the question.

The question is that I want to try to HIDE the fact that they are affiliate links from G--gle. How is this accomplished?

i've read that crawlers don't index the whole pages when a website it's built on java, so if there's a java cloaking method i would think that this is the way to go in order to be able to hide aff links from google. But i'm just a newbie and i haven't done anything like that before so don't take my word, it's just a though
