Ok, so I had a person pay with a echeck from paypal and they purchased their digital content. Then after it cleared they got paypal to refund the payment so I wanted to know how I can track this perons down via email and name. I want to see if he is using this product online so that I have evadince to show PayPal that he got his product and using it. I was thinking typing in google "email" and "username" would that be correct?

Just google his email... try search engine services for finding from his name.

I did that found out what state and social networks he is on.

The problem is, what are you actually going to do once you have him tracked down? if it's for a small amount, then just move on, you'll spend time trying to get payment from him, whilst you could be using your valuable time in actually making money.

You come across these type of scumbags very often. Not much can be done about it, i'm afraid.

Edit : Sorry misread a little. If he has the refund already, paypal aint going to change there mind on reversing a refund.

Small or big it is the principle of the situation I have Google alerts set up already so when he thinks he is safe and uses the product then I can file a cease and desist.

!This is evil and you should not read if your not comfortable with social engineering!

If hes in social networks, create new account with opposite sex and flirt and get hes/her attention... get him tell you all the stuff you need, crush his heart and if your evil enough then let everybody around him know some secrets that he has told you or make stuff up.

If you have free time, you could do this but otherwise let him go.... karma will get to him eventually.

As its a digital product its less likely that paypal will decide case in your favour. They mostly favour sellers only in case of physically shipped items.

Thanks for the share

if you can track his use of the product, can you disable it?

Burn it to a disk and send it to him by Fedex or USPS, insist on a signature. He will sign for the package out of curiosity, and you have proof you delivered.

You are screwed unfortunately.

Chalk it up as a business loss, which you'll have more of, and move on. Focusing on this one shitty client that screwed you isn't gonna get you anywhere.

Focus on figuring out how this can't happen again, and getting more business.
