In my humble opinion, I believe 99 percent of SEO companies to be scams.

First off let me start out by saying that I have over 40 sites that make SOME profit each month. Out of the 40 only 3 of those sites are making good money, and I did all of my SEO manually over time for those 3 sites.

The other 30 something sites were mostly experiments with me trying to outsource my SEO and not one company has performed well enough for repeat business.

Now let me ask you this. If you had an amazing technique like all of these SEO companies claim to have, would you be selling this fairly cheap to random customers to make a one time or small monthly profit? NO! You would be making your own websites and banking off of lifetime profits. So why would a company that could truly rank a site well even do it for someone else?

Furthermore, If a company or individual actually does have real talent at SEO what would stop them from stealing your ideas? I mean let's be honest. If you could make 200-300 dollars a month on an SEO package from a client, or instead make the same type of website and make 1000 a month on the site why wouldn't you? This is the main reason I don't think I will ever pay for SEO again.

Now before you say that I haven't shopped around or found the right companies, I will tell you that I have tried over 20 different SEO companies. I have tried one time multiple tier link pyramids to 800 dollar a month corporate SEO packages and everything in between. I have had patience with SEO companies and let most campaigns run 5-6 months with very little results.

That is why I think the old saying goes. If you want something done right, do it YOURSELF!

Well, I have put countless hours into those 3 sites. I guess I kept trying because I was trying to be proficient. I have all of these quality sites with no SEO and not enough time to work on each of them and I was hoping to get 10 sites making strong profit quickly. I now realize SEO is nothing but time.
 
you get what you pay for.my clients love me when I do their SEO because I know what the fuck I am doing and deliver them results in the SERPs. Stop hiring bullshit seo people and you will get positive results.GL bro.
 
Content is king. Graphics, videos, a video game, and etc. Keywords
 
well, you are assuming that every website that wants seo services can be duplicated by the company offering those services..................and this is absolutely not correct!............

my website cannot be duplicated by anyone here as its an e-commerce site and i sell a very unique piece of software that would cost tens of thousands of dollars for someone to duplicate...can someone with deep pockets possibly duplicate it, maybe, maybe not....
 
SEO companies are not scams, but you have to realize what the nature of the business is.

I had a client email me yesterday asking me if we should submit a Google Sitemap for her site. Her website has 6,000 pages indexed by google, I told her that it wouldn't do anything to help her for rankings and the next stage would be On-Site Optimization before the next wave of link building.

Part of the job of agencies, companies or even independent consultants is to educate the client, and more importantly try to establish goals. The goal should *rarely* be 'bring traffic to the website'. If that's the goal, go to Maxvisits and flood them with untargeted traffic and hope they make conversions.

The goal to to educate, to convert, to increase sales. You have to work concurrently with other traditionally marketing and economic practices to achieve these goals like pricing, event advertising, call-to-action etc. You always should be optimzing the website not only for traffic, SEO but also for conversions.

That said, I know some SEO companies are a scam. There is one company in Australia I know, who my friend is with. Their service is based on monthly maintenance for 20 keywords that their clients choose. I had to look up these keywords, but most of them had literally no monthly searches and they weren't even ranking for them. That, is flat out taking advantage of the ignorant and honestly making a mockery of the industry.

Yeah you usually get what you pay for. A few months ago someone here referred me to a "great SEO company", and then a few people commented afterwards also approving this company. I spent 800 a month for 5 months and didn't get a single key phrase into the top 25.

Then I started a new site with the same content, scratched the old site, and did my SEO myself and got into the top 3 spots within a month and a half. Now make 1200 a week on this site.

Just saying as a whole, SEO companies are crap from my experience.
 
Let me try to explain how it is profitable to sell SEO service.
I have big network of personal sites and I promote them all, but making new sites that is going to be profitable means I need to invest (in good product, good business model that converts, in time, etc...).
On other side, clients might have very profitable business model, for example small house for renting in top luxury place that he rents for $400 per night.
That clients is ready to pay very high monthly price for SEO service that will make him more sales.

Usually that kind of people who are in big business don't run just one or don't have time at all to do SEO themselves.

I'm not talking here about adsense or affiliate sites as that is game for kids and they do SEO themselves.
 
there is a saying .... if you cant rank your pages ... then start selling seo ;)

but i cant say because i never bought expensive monthly packages.
just small things where i did not see any improvement after panda.
 
It is not really a scam, it is just a matter of time...SEO work from the outsourcing companies will pay off in due time, consistency and competition...
 
So silly not sure if I should chuckle or not. I personally am very good at my craft and charge low fees for it since I know time wise I can page 1 almost anything. If you are good at what you do then it does not take very long to rank a site and instead of sitting idle why not help others?
 
50-50.

some times experienced seo service team can make mistakes. because google do some magic with out their knowledge.
 
I think everything in this world is a scam.
No one actually delivers 100% of what they say.
There is always this or that.
Just sell it, get the money and run!
 
Buy different packages from here, it won't cost up to $400. And you will know SEO companies are not fake.

I don't know why you think it's silly. If you are that great at ranking sites you could make much more money with affiliate programs than you could doing SEO for other people.

Sure, helping other people out is great, but not too many people in the world think like that. I mean why make a couple hundred bucks helping someone else get rich when you could do it for yourself and get richer?

I mean I make 2500 a week already on my sites combined, and I am surely not a master at SEO yet, but if I had all 40 of my sites ranked top 5 in Google I would probably be making 20000 a week or more. All I am saying is why would an SEO company bother with its clients when the person who is great at SEO could make all of the money himself. (Unless of course everyone is just kind hearted like yourself)

Most of the times these SEO companies use us (BST providers) service and sell it at almost 100% premium...

You will never get anything unique from them.. it will be the same crap that everyone is selling on BST...

I provide SEO services to many SEO firms who resell my entire service to their clients... !!!

I have started building sites more ten years ago (and still building new ones today) and there is one thing that I can tell you about SEO - if you rely on income from your own site alone, you have ZERO guarantee that you will have stable income; no matter how good you are, you can wake up one day and see all your sites' traffic down the drain. Sure, you can keep making good money for months and even for years, but you never know when your luck will run out;

On the other hand, having repeat customers that are willing to pay for your services gives you some stability or at least additional income you can rely on if all your other revenue streams dry up.
 
there is a market for seo services...simple as that. Just because I know how to program doesn't mean I'm not going to sell my services to someone else to program their app when I can program my own.
