Yep, I think one of my sites that got hit was from the Panda update. It was a PMD but it nowhere. It has good content, good links and is a PMD. Instead they have promoted my really spammy EMD site in the same niche, with very little content, onto page 1.

Google has enough paid advertisers in some of the niches I follow (active in or otherwise use for monitoring trends) and some of the organic listings are nonsense. The threshold of keyword use is so low on some of the sites that a mere mention of the keyword in their post has promoted their sites to rank on the first page for some terms. The keyword they are ranking for is not only in their domain names, but not in their title, meta tags, etc. This is why so many of the organic listings I am seeing are irrelevant. With a keyword density of < 1.5%, how could these organic listings be more relevant then pages that thoroughly describe a product and service? They can't. I suspect Google is subjecting certain organic keyword queries, where paid advertisers are plentiful, to a different algorithmic routine.

same here slight improvement, noticed another one of my sites with an exact match domain double dmoz listed authority website which was really old got slapped by Google too from ranking page 1 just below wikipedia to off the charts for all terms had all natural backlinks loads of edus and was not wordpress but pure html, Im totally puzzled now on the path to recovery...

Penguin refresh as well... this ACTUALLY hit a lot of my sites (that aren't new)... some dropped a small amount (from #1 to #3) ... however one of my OLD sites, hit by the very first penguin and off the map, is now #1 for 4 keywords O.o

Wonder if it's worth keeping them, backlink and wait until it comes back one day, but really would take a LONG TIME.

I've personally only seen problems with this on my new emd's . All of the aged domains I have hadn't lost any rankings what soever.

Did this EMD update also affect non-English sites? Cutts said this will impact 0.6% of English-US queries to a noticeable degree but no info about other languages unfortunately.

Most of my EMDs still rank great(some of them even got up in the ranks).
Only 1 of them is bouncing.

Huge drop for me on my one EMD site. Site created in April and consistently been around #5 for past 4-5 months.

Has anyone noticed when an update is taking place the number of search results change like hell, for example for one of my keywords I normally get 1.720.000 results then I check it a few minutes latter and it changes to 250.000 then it will change again to 175.000 and finally it is back to normal now but of course my EMD is gone, also my sites are in spanish so it looks like the update took longer for other countries

My site has been hit. From #1 to #5, and all other keywords I was ranking for are nowhere to be found.

Will have to wait it out, if it is emd related I will 301 my site. My content is good and informative. So lets see what happens next. At the moment it seems that my base url dropped from the rankings, innerpages are still there.

Also they must pass the new algo threw so i guess they index de-index lots of sites I think thats why the search results change so much, when they finish passing all the sites threw the new filter some are fucked and some are better then before

Has anybody figured out what exactly g was penalizing? Looks like not everyone with a emd got hit.

Has anyone figured out what remedy there is for this? My website has an EMD but that KW is not where I was getting most of my traffic. My of my traffic came from long tail keywords not similar to the kw in my domain, but my site has been hit for ALL of its kws, even the long tail ones my site's inner pages were ranking for.

My site has 30 pages of well written useful content. No Ads, sales crap or spammy content. Although my site is made on wordpress.

Well I wasn't hit by the EMD update, but I was hit by the Panda update.

There hasn't been a refresh yet. Every day I check if there has been a refresh :P part of me excited, but of me nervous. If the EMD update is a filter (it looks to be) then you probably won't recover until there is an EMD update.

So is the consensus that if we have a URL which we think has been "filtered" or penalized or downgraded so to speak in the eyes of G, then we should HTaccess redirect our site to a new Domain which is not a generic Keyword??

not sure if anyone mentioned this, but google makes money mostly from smaller sites pushing towards the bigger brand sites, since they pay the most for keywords, if the smaller sites get badly hit then revenue drops for them,

Checked one that's still nailed at number one... roughly 70 pages though with a pr2.
Most of the dives I've seen have been with a super low page count...
