Theres a program in beta that I've managed to get .edu links from, it might only be offered in the donor section for now though.

edit> nevermind cant find the blog post...

Some search terms, for use in G of course:

    site:.edu
will give you all .edu sites

Search for profile footprints, depending on forum platform, such as:
    inurlrofile.php?mode=register site:.edu
    as an example.

There's a bunch, just look around for a platform and figure out whats the same in all, use site: to specify .edu and inurl: to add the part of the URL that is going to show up as a footprint with that platform, if there's a few platforms with the same footprint add some regular search terms by itself like "powered by vbulletin" or whatever. Just play with it a little its easy to find a bunch of .edu sites on lots of platforms once you get started.

    Google footprints. Easy.

    1. Open google, search "Niche" site:edu
    2. On the left sidebar, select options. I usually use "blogs"
    3. You can also set to display only posts within 24 hours.

You just need to play with it.

    inurl:.gov.(country code)/forum or blog

If you perform a search for small business directory or small business directories and fall shore there still are many similar options. A small touch of creativity will allow you to find the hidden directories. Search for phrases such as:

    small business + resources
    small business + add url
    small business + submit
    small business + submit url
    small business + web sites
    small business + directory
    small business + list

site: ezinearticles.com "this article has been viewed 1000..100000""article submitted on:* *,2010

    site: articlebase.com "views: 1000..100000"

site: searchwarp.com "this article has been viewed 1000..100000"

    site:dmoz.org inurl:directories

    site:.edu + keyoword + inur:blog

This will return all the .edu sites which are related to your keyword & have the word blog in it’s URL.

Now you can even more accurate results by using queries like,

    site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment”

    site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment” -”comments closed”

keyword + site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment” -”comments closed” -”you must be logged in”

You can also go to google blog search & use this search string. This gives better than the best results for sure..

keyword + site:.edu “post a comment” -”comments closed” -”you must be logged in”

Use this method wisely & enjoy some valuable .edu links . Make sure you don’t over do this, Or you may end up getting in the SANDBOX of the BIG G

    Should get you started

Use Scrapebox. But if you do some research I'm sure you will find plenty of lists with auto approve .edu pages, either here on BHW or on file hosting sites.
