    Default How I ranked a Customer under 4 weeks ! [FULL METHOD INSIDE]

    Hey Buddies,

    Today, i'm going to explain in details what I did to rank a customer under hard circumstances.

    Hard circumstances = a deadline of a month with a medium difficiculty keyword.

    (NOTE : I did not guarantee any result but an improvement)
    (NOTE 2 : There is a quick summary at the bottom)
    (NOTE 3 : I did not use any link indexing process !)

    I started the 4th of january on that keyword where my customer was around 300th.

    A week ago, he was on the first page dancing between 10th and 5th.

    Today he is 3rd and traffic is flooding his website !!

    I used a method that i call relative SEO which consist in doing a full evaluation of the 1st of a query including on site factors and backlinks analysis. Then the purpose is to do better on most of the point

    Here is what I did :

    1) Page Speed Optimisation of the whole website (90/100) main competitor has 85/100
    Page Speed = Reduce Images Size, add a caching system (gzip), differ JS code, add an expiration time to web elements through htacess and so on.

    2) Define Keywords variance for the inner page of the KW. This point consist in defining several related keywords to use in the main content, to avoid a stupid meanless text with a stupid occurency of the same keyword especially for an ecommerce website.

    3) Images Titles - ALt : relevant with the content of the image + keyword and sitemap regeneration

    4) CRITICAL POINT : If you guys have to remember something from this thread it is this pecualiar aspect :

    NET LINKING IS CRITICAL
    : Net linking is how your inner pages are linked together with a title.

    When i study a website, i see too much people who are not even using title neither alt on their "a href" tag. Well this is an epic mistake !

    As a matter of fact, for another website, i noticed that i ranked 9th for keyword (hosting related so kindda hard) and i didn't even mention it on the whole website, not even once ! Once i looked further over it, i noticed that i used it in all a href title which target the inner page ranked, instead of the real keyword i was targetting.

    So, i have added a footer, with most of the links of the website with the keyword in titles and a variance in alt.

    And i have added the critical KW on the main menu. It wasn't relevant at the time i added it (valentines related) but it was good for SEO.

    5) Now that all the modifications has been made, i came into the fast indexing process.
    - 3k backlinks : WhoIs and How much worth your website
    - 15k Approuved Trackbacks links towards all most important inner page.

    6) Then, the hard backlinking kicks in !

    I studied the main competitors backlinks with spyglass, and took the ones i could, like manual commenting in web 2.0 properties (1 or 2 ) and so on.

    I made 3 blog network blast.

    The first was done within 1 day over 130 blogs, with several keywords and inner page.
    The 2nd was dripped for one week and the 3rd for 2 weeks after the 2nd

    I created manually a few (a dozen) web 2.0 properties on squiddo, wordpress, tumblr, and blogger. All crappily spinned with TBS

    I have ordered a custom bot which worked for 2 days, to steal wikispace links. (they changed their system and i'm screwed)

    I have created manually a few edu profiles, and 2 .edu blog. (i don't believe in edu.xxx)

    I took the first blog network blast, the web 2.0 properties, and the manual .edu links and the URLs of the website; I place them all in scrapebox without forgetting to associate and lock keywords to each links produced (hard work here for 200 links)

    To lock a keyword for an URL in SB you do this : "http://website.com {keywords1|keywords2}" without ""

    Then i blast the hell out of it on huge .edu, .gov, ******** and even crappy AA with high OBL. (around 500k)

    Result is immediate : 66th the next day and 3 days later 15th.

    The hard work was done, then i use AMR to produce articles links and wiki links with extremephp bot toward all the URL mentionned above and with the blog network dripping process, i ended up dancing for 2 weeks in the first page.

    After that, i daily produced EDU, .gov blog comments with low success rate straightly to inner page of the money site.

    The dance was keep going. Well, here is another thing i learned with another website. Social Bookmarking is working greatly to fix google dance.

    So i ordered a 1k package of social bookmarks here :
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...k-urls-ok.html

    I ordered it 5 days ago, delivered a few hours later and the next day i was 4th (never reached that place before) and now i'm 3rd.

    For the lazy ones here is the summary :

    1) Do not forget on site seo (page speed, titles, a href titles, relevant content even for ecommerce website, net linking)
    2) I was lucky enough to get a customer with a low bounce rate (30%)
    3) Fast indexing process : whois and trackbacks
    4) then diversify your backlinks here it is : blog network, scrapebox (gov, edu, do follow, nofollow, high PR, no PR, low OBL, high OBL), wiki links, web 2.0 properties toward several platforms, edu profiles, edu blog, manual commenting, social bookmarking, and stealth of wikispace links

    Special Thanks to

    ExtremePHP : Wiki Bot just Awesome
    MandLoys : Great SB service ! Keep it on !
    PatMiller : Not easy everyday but thanks a lot for your Bot !
    IamNRE : I found the lead thanks to you
    Thanks for the people who shared list even crappy ones but bigger thanks for the good ones .

    And Standing Ovation for all of you guys !

    Oo, yes you can. It may not be validated by W3C, but who cares ?

    <a href="" title="" alt="">Anchor</a>

    I'm using it for 7 years without any problem

    Well i don't work to please W3C but to please Google and what i do know is that google read through alt tag. It emphasizes occurencies, and help google to understand what your website is about.

    Anyway, this is not a critical point of the thread.

    Phenominal post bro. Congrats on getting that site ranked in a month. You lost me at one part though..

    Phenominal post bro. Congrats on getting that site ranked in a month. You lost me at one part though..
    To make it short, i made it confusing, sorry about that.

    Well first netlinking is very important. It is the way you place the links to your inner pages through elements of your website (menu, sidebar, footer, contextual links and so on) i believe you know that already.

    It allows google to crawl deeper in your website.

    It is different from the sitemap, which list the doors entries of your website. But once google is on your website, it wants to go deeper and it is using your inner links.

    Then what i didn't know until i have discovered on one my website. It is the importance that google allow your link's title and alt. (i say both because from my experience i used both)

    As i said, i ranked 9th for a keyword, that i didn't mention not even once through all my website. But i used it in all titles and alt of my internal linking aiming at a peculiar inner page. it was actually a mistake but this inner page showed up 9th without any mention of this keyword in it.

    Basically, titles and alt in internal linking behaves like backlinks' anchors would do.

    Is it better explained ? :/

    Hi Abyss
    Thanks dude really informative post even though i am a newbie to SEO.
    I had a few questions, when you say
    2) Define Keywords variance for the inner page of the KW. This point consist in defining several related keywords to use in the main content, to avoid a stupid meanless text with a stupid occurency of the same keyword especially for an ecommerce website.
    Do you mean have several different variations for the keyword you are targeting on any particular web page of your site. For example if it was the url google/images and our main keyword was images for that page, would we now have to have images/pictures/graphics etc throughout that page in order to rank for the keyword images or am i completely missing the plot??
    Thanks in advance

    @adam20 : Well it is very complicated point but you are fully in the right.

    This aspect of the strategy refers to how google exactly works.

    It deals with n-grams where you can find a great explanation here :

    And on another matter you have to know that google is everything but stupid.

    What google actually does, is to dress a semantic map of your website. In order to do so, it is using key-words (the genuine sense of it) which are used to link the semantic map.

    The more you use a keyword, the bigger the concept is for google's robots, and the bigger it is in the semantic map.

    Ok that's a fact.

    But then, those keywords has to be linked to others neighbors concept to increase their importance and relevancy in a content.

    So if you use pictures, graphics as SECONDARY keywords (so with less occurencies than the main one) well google will link them to images in the map and give more importance to image thanks to the synonyms.

    That said, understanding the system is easy but when it comes to apply it when you write a text it is another story, but it remains good to know and you can use this strategy when you do backlinking and anchor linking. ANd you could also just quote the synonym without thinking too much in a text.

    I have a software which is dressing semantic map, it is used by professional translators, if i have time i'll post a screenshot of a semantic map, it would be easier to understand.

    Awesome post, dude!

    I would also add that keyword research is a critical step.

    Good ranking does not guarantee traffic. Even if you get traffic it does not guarantee that you will make money out of it. It's up to you to do the correct keyword research and to create a website that converts. If you don't, then no amount of hard work on a website and traffic will make you money from it.

    This is like the best post of this year ( when it comes to pure SEO). It is the bible guys! Do not want to give ideas what you can do with that knowledge..

    ---

    But I have a few questions if you don't mind.

    1.

    I made 3 blog network blast.

    The first was done within 1 day over 130 blogs, with several keywords and inner page.
    The 2nd was dripped for one week and the 3rd for 2 weeks after the 2nd

    What you mean here is that you bought Private High PR blog blasts?

    2.

    To lock a keyword for an URL in SB you do this : "http://website.com {keywords1|keywords2}" without ""
    Once you put an url in SB then you add (in the same .txt file ) url + keyword in a patern you explained? "http://website.com {keywords1|keywords2}"

    What with keyword .txt file? DO we need to add it also ? Add it empty or put there related keywords also.

    3.

    A few details:

    - how old was the website?
    - how many keywords you were targeting? main keywords and later variation of keywords.
    - how many searches have you keywords?

    I hope that isn't too much to answer :-)
    Let's see and update us please about rankings. That can't be the Google Dance but we will see how long it will stick there.

    Again,
    Great Pure Gold Thread.

    Cheers!
    Comming soon.. stay tunned.

    @xenoxen thank you for your kind words !

    1) Yes, i used a JR VIP private network and i post on my own PR6 domain that i gave to the network. So i didn't need to purchase network posts.
    I'm also looking forward GST's articles directory .

    2) For the SB locking process, you need to use the pattern explained for the website field. And then you paste some keywords in a file which you'd use in the keyword field.

    It will use your websites.txt file and but it requires still a file in the keyword field to launch the process. You could use it for non locked URL.

    When it comes to SB, the thread to read is from our dear Cyberzilla :

    3)
    -Website was 1.5 year old
    -I was targeting one peculiar KW and a variance which i unprioritized.
    The second keywords is now ranking 20th and it wasn't in the top 1000 before i started.
    Otherwise, i'm working on 10 others keywords in a long run basis. But i had a deadline for this one only and another one to come.
    - Searches aren't relevant for the peculiar Keyword as it is valentines related. To give you an idea on how hard it was, i outranked marks&spencer who was also pushing their SEO. (difficulty remains medium but what was hard was the given timeframe.)

    The others keywords are from 1k to 10k searches a month in exact. Ranking are increasing but i'm not pushing yet. they are located between 2th and 20th currently.

    @Tommy thanks for those words

    @longdancingbanana :

    Well it cost me :

    - $24 for 1k social bookmarks.
    - $100 for the custom made bot to steal wikispace links.

    So it is pretty cheap for such a result and a customer really pleased.

    could you share your htaccess code for this. I've been trying a few things I found on google but they dont seem to be right.

    It depends a bit on your hosting provider but here is a part that i use for page speed :

    <IfModule mod_headers.c>
    <FilesMatch "\.(js|css|xml|gz)$">
    Header append Vary Accept-Encoding
    </FilesMatch>
    <FilesMatch "\\.(ico|jpe?g|png|gif|swf)$">
    Header set Cache-Control "max-age=2592000, public"
    </FilesMatch>
    <FilesMatch "\\.(css)$">
    Header set Cache-Control "max-age=604800, public"
    </FilesMatch>
    <FilesMatch "\\.(js)$">
    Header set Cache-Control "max-age=216000, private"
    </FilesMatch>
    <FilesMatch "\\.(x?html?|php)$">
    Header set Cache-Control "max-age=600, private, must-revalidate"
    </FilesMatch>
    </IfModule>

    ## Expire headers

    Oh well, this is completly wrong .

    Can you rank a website without on-page SEO ?

    Yes, you can especially when you use wordpress which is doing half the work.
    The part you missed is the relative SEO. If you do better than the crappy on-page ones, well your off-site will be a lot easier to outrank them.

    While it's true that I've also seen irrelevant content pages ranking well, on page SEO does matter. I've ranked a site in a low-medium(ish) competitive niche purely through on page optimization.

    I'm a bit confused by your comment .

    If you mean that the method isn't working with Panda, well it actually is.

    As said within the thread, the content has been well written.
