Hi BHW,
I just wanted to (1) express my gratitude for the people in this forum, I've become inspired to put my mind to this SEO ranking process and I'm usually quite a lazy person and (2) Let you guys know what's been happening on my end!

So anyway, I discovered a pretty awesome way of finding rankable keywords and I attempted my first EDM rank on Monday! This is what I did:

  • Found the keyword with an EDM
  • Researched 4 related keywords 'phrase' matched
  • Wrote 4 articles >300 words with various keyword densities
  • Installed wordpress, installed nice theme, put up 2 articles on monday
  • Did 100% manual blog commenting, about 10 sites.
  • Put up one more article Tuesday, submitted these 3 articles to ezinearticles.com
  • Put up one more article on Wednesday, submitted sitemap.xml to Google.
  • Today:
  • * 1 page indexed in Google! *
  • * RANKING 57 in Google already for my EDM keyword after 3 days!!!!! * (according to CuteRank)
Anyway, I haven't gotten any clicks on ads but I have recieved about 8 unique views per day since I put up the site. I'm so excited, let me know if you have any advice!

Well congratulations! But you still have a long way to go. Keep reading and keep testing to see what works for you best. Remember, the new word in Seo is DIVERSIFY.

Peace out.

Nice going there! I've seen around here that posting content on Web 2.0 properties helps you rank better with a link back to your site. There should be a thread around here somewhere with links to those sites.

Wish you the best of luck!

WOW, sounds really good :) Go on with that good work, try to spread your Links a bit on Social Bookmarking sites also, i guess that also helps a bit ;)

I will be doing Web 2.0 links today per your advice, thanks!
Update:
MAIN KEYWORD

  • Google Rank: 99
  • Yahoo Rank: 4
  • Bing Rank: 4
  • AOL Rank: 91

I am not yet ranking top 100 for any of the other keywords.

UPDATE:
Today, I purchased Scrapebox so I'm going to read a couple ebooks on how to use it and download some AA lists. My plan is to drip feed the backlinks, making about 500 per day of only high PR/high quality backlinks.

  • Google Rank: 98
  • Yahoo Rank: [not top 100]
  • Bing Rank: [not top 100]
  • AOL Rank: 91
I am going to do Scrapebox commenting for my secondary keywords first, then I will be running it on my main long tail. I do have a slight problem though, my laptop only has 2GB of memory and I'm running scrapebox from within VirtualBox on Windows....my computer is basically rendered unusable when Windows is running so it's a huge pain in the ass.

what happened to the yahoo and bing ranks? dancing?

well done anyway OP, sure you will be on page 1 soon

Keep doing SEO, follow consistent link building, make a strategy and watch moving up.

careful with scrapebox, give your site time to age before you do that!

@boom1 I'm not sure what happened to Yahoo and Bing, but we will see!

@thetermy What would you suggest? I may just continue to add content and do manual linking for a while. I run a music blog as well so I may unleash the Scrapebox beast on that URL since its 4+ months old.

UPDATE:

  • Google Rank: 98
  • Yahoo Rank: 4
  • Bing Rank: [not top 100]
  • AOL Rank: 91

Sorry, I mean EMD "exact match domain"
Funny I typed EDM because it means "electronic dance music" and I'm used to typing that on my main website.

So many people here says direct scrapebox blasts are not good idea anymore. If there still is something to write about than I would focus on adding more content and building web 2.0s, getting links to those web 2.0 and being patient. Find some "method" threads here and check out what exactly successful people here do, doing this helped me probably the most.

Like this thread http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/375471-case-study-how-did-i-rank-new-emd-domain-1-one-month.html

Good work my man.

Echoing what others are saying, be sure not to scrapebox your money site directly. I learned that the hard way by having my site blasted into oblivion.

How do you "indirectly" scrapebox a site? Do you mean doing large blasts on other sites, then linking from those into main site?

@Chicilikit That thread is awesome... I'm still confused about what 'Web 2.0 Properties' refers to and also the article submissions.

On a different note...scrapebox is very confusing!
