    Default Noob success!

    Hi BHW,
I just wanted to (1) express my gratitude for the people in this forum, I've become inspired to put my mind to this SEO ranking process and I'm usually quite a lazy person and (2) Let you guys know what's been happening on my end!

So anyway, I discovered a pretty awesome way of finding rankable keywords and I attempted my first EDM rank on Monday! This is what I did:

    • Found the keyword with an EDM
    • Researched 4 related keywords 'phrase' matched
    • Wrote 4 articles >300 words with various keyword densities
    • Installed wordpress, installed nice theme, put up 2 articles on monday
    • Did 100% manual blog commenting, about 10 sites.
    • Put up one more article Tuesday, submitted these 3 articles to ezinearticles.com
    • Put up one more article on Wednesday, submitted sitemap.xml to Google.
    • Today:
    • * 1 page indexed in Google! *
    • * RANKING 57 in Google already for my EDM keyword after 3 days!!!!! * (according to CuteRank)

Anyway, I haven't gotten any clicks on ads but I have recieved about 8 unique views per day since I put up the site. I'm so excited, let me know if you have any advice!

Nice going there! I've seen around here that posting content on Web 2.0 properties helps you rank better with a link back to your site. There should be a thread around here somewhere with links to those sites.

Wish you the best of luck!

    Update:
    MAIN KEYWORD

    • Google Rank: 99

    • Bing Rank: 4
    • AOL Rank: 91

I am not yet ranking top 100 for any of the other keywords.

    UPDATE:
Today, I purchased Scrapebox so I'm going to read a couple ebooks on how to use it and download some AA lists. My plan is to drip feed the backlinks, making about 500 per day of only high PR/high quality backlinks.

    • Google Rank: 98
    • Yahoo Rank: [not top 100]
    • Bing Rank: [not top 100]
    • AOL Rank: 91

I am going to do Scrapebox commenting for my secondary keywords first, then I will be running it on my main long tail. I do have a slight problem though, my laptop only has 2GB of memory and I'm running scrapebox from within VirtualBox on Windows....my computer is basically rendered unusable when Windows is running so it's a huge pain in the ass.

@thetermy What would you suggest? I may just continue to add content and do manual linking for a while. I run a music blog as well so I may unleash the Scrapebox beast on that URL since its 4+ months old.

    UPDATE:

    • Google Rank: 98
    • Yahoo Rank: 4

Sorry, I mean EMD "exact match domain"
Funny I typed EDM because it means "electronic dance music" and I'm used to typing that on my main website.

So many people here says direct scrapebox blasts are not good idea anymore. If there still is something to write about than I would focus on adding more content and building web 2.0s, getting links to those web 2.0 and being patient. Find some "method" threads here and check out what exactly successful people here do, doing this helped me probably the most.

Echoing what others are saying, be sure not to scrapebox your money site directly. I learned that the hard way by having my site blasted into oblivion.

How do you "indirectly" scrapebox a site? Do you mean doing large blasts on other sites, then linking from those into main site?

@Chicilikit That thread is awesome... I'm still confused about what 'Web 2.0 Properties' refers to and also the article submissions.

On a different note...scrapebox is very confusing!

Ok heres what you want to do. Web 2.0s are really pretty simple. You want to write an approx 400 word article, you want your keyword used once in this article, so you can link it to your site. you want to get a spinner program, and spin this article a bunch of times. You want to then post the spun articles onto different blog sites. Heres a link to give you different sites to use. http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...-websites.html

5 to 10 of these will be good. You are now free to blast these web 2.0s like crazy without hurting your money site.

Also as far as your rankings not holding, this is normal. It may take a few weeks-months for your sites to stop "dancing".

Keep up the good work though. Work hard, once you get a few articles posted to this site, get the 2.0s set up, backlink everything. Just dont sit there and admire your work, its time to start all over with the next site. These guys making the big bucks off MNS arnt doing it off 1 site, they are doing it with many sites... 100+ sites....

Turning your MNS into an authority site is also another option, although depending on how specific your niche is that may be tough.

I ended up grabbing a piece of software called "SpinChimp" because the installer for spinnerchief kept getting corrupted. Anyway, I spun the article 4 different ways and submitted it (with keyword anchor text link to site) to domains I created after registering at:

    • weebly.com
    • webnode.com
    • tumblr.com
    • tripod.com
    • bravenet.com

    UPDATE:

    • Google Rank: 94 (+2)
    • Yahoo Rank: [not top 100]
    • Bing Rank: 10
    • AOL Rank: 88 (+2)

I'm having a kegger tonight so no SEO for me, but tomorrow I will be attempting a 500 PR6+ scrapebox comments with my main keyword (that is, IF I CAN FIND ANY WORKING PROXIES!!!! haha)

Good advice, I have a few questions if anyone can help.

    (1) When you say to ping, do you mean on sites I've posted comments to or do you mean ping my own site each day?

    (2) When using Scrapebox: should I do blasts for sites that link to my site (like my own weebly or webnode site with the spun article and hyperlink) or blast directly to my site?

    (3) What is a good Scrapebox blast strategy in terms of volume and frequency? My current plan is to do a 5,000 URL blast every 2 weeks or so to only PR4+ Wordpress sites. I understand that most of the comments will not become approved, but I've yet to figure out how to uncover Auto-Approve domains on my own.

Stay away from scrapebox to your main site for now until you know what you are doing. If you want something safe that has worked well for me for low/med comp kw's PM and I'll hit you for free.

    UPDATE:

    • Google Rank: 57
    • Yahoo Rank: 4
    • Bing Rank: 4
    • AOL Rank: 57

I haven't done any scrapebox backlinking yet, but I plan on doing a blast this coming Friday. The scrapebox URL list will be 1,000 Auto-Approve PR3+ URLs with no duplicate domains.

A friend here at BHW offered to help me make some article submissions because I was going to do them manually otherwise, and I have just pinged them. The links we're made about 2 days ago so I was advised to let them sit for a while, then use an online pinger. I'll let the search engines check out the pinged URLs and post an update either late tonight or tomorrow. As of now, my rankings have stayed stable!
