You mean like a Learning Management System to upload your videos and tests to? Or do you mean something to create the tests with? I used to do a lot of elearning stuff so if you'd like to be more specific (including the content of the training) I can give you specific advice.

I am not sure if Jared had this open to the public, but Backlink University has a system capable of doing this. It was set up specifically for training outsourced agents; but you can easily add your own videos and services.

    Very cool looking software.

    Thanks.

Yeah, something like a 'learning management system', where I can upload videos, create test, and allow my VA to complete these tests' (so i know if they did it or not etc.)

    Thanks again

Well you probably wouldn't need a proper LMS to be fair, would be overkill - are you training soft skills or are you training them how to use an application?

If you're training people how to use an app, I'd seriously look at Captivate. You can create demos of how to use the app (better than a video really). Then to test them, you can actually create simulations of the application e.g. You show them a MS Word screen with some text selected, and the audio will say "OK, you've selected the text, where would you click to make the text BOLD?" Then they have to click on "B" in the toolbar to answer. For teaching how to use specific apps this is a more effective method to make sure the training really sticks... much better than a video recording followed by a test.

If that's not suitable for what you're training them on, for example, maybe you're training them how to handle particular questions on a sales call or something... then yes you could have a video as training material, and then you could use Articulate Quizmaker to make the tests.

Both Articulate and Captivate output as SWF (so you can just embed on a webpage). They can both email the results too, so you can be sure your staff do their tests. But you have to think about what's suitable for your needs, and you have to make sure the tests and the training are designed in a way that they genuinely learn from it. Or it'll be a waste of your and their time! I've seen elearning where the test is so pointless - you can easily work out the answers from the question without even going through the training material The boss will be happy that the staff have completed the test, but in reality they haven't learnt anything from it so it's an illusion.

If you're going to have a wide range of courses and a big number of trainees, then you'll need an LMS to put it all together, assign which trainee needs to complete which course (and by which date etc), track results and other useful functions. As you can imagine, emailed test results are fine on a small scale, but on a large scale it'll be a PITA to manage. An LMS lets you manage that more sensibly - each trainee logs in with a username, their test results are put into a database along with which videos they've watched and so on, so everything can be really tracked. Both Articulate and Captivate can post test results to LMSs using industry standard methods.

Anyway after typing all of that, I'm gonna say if you're training VAs how to do procedural stuff then Captivate is your best bet, and the idea is to first show them how it's done, then to test them you show them a screenshot and ask them where they should click next, mixed in with some multiple choice questions. It's not so much a test for results, but more like testing them to help the information stick in their mind, much like when a teacher asks the whole class a general question. You want your staff to learn the actual material and perform their job better, not just pass tests Lol I'll stop rambling now.
