Question Virtual Credit Card vs Visa Gift Card

What is the difference between Virtual Gift Card and Visa Gift Card?

I bought a Visa Gift Card last year and added an address , name and email. I used it to verify my Paypal and to buy a few services. I even added a fake name and Paypal still has not banned me ( My account is 4 years old ).

What is so great about Virtual Credit Card? People are charging 10 - 15 dollars extra for it.

My Visa Gift Card costs 4 dollars to register and i can add between 25 - 1000 dollars.

Truthfully, I couldn't tell you. Although, to me VCC are used with PP after using the account for a few transactions and they eventually limit the account. But with Visa Gift Cards, the expiration date isn't the same as on the card. After a couple years they charge $2.00 a month until the card is depleted and then PP will request you to add a new card and may limit it doing so. Make sure to read the back of the card, it may be different in certain areas.

My accounts are used with Visa gift cards, but I use them as stealth until I add a bank and then they are only used a few times and go back to sleep.

There is no big difference in the two. However, the gift cards that worked last year might not be working anymore. Paypal now does AVS (address verification) not all vcc's and gift cards can do AVS, so you hsve to find the right ones.

Now that I think of it, if you buy a VCC from someone online chances are you can only use it to verify accounts. Where as the gift cards you can use to pay fees or shop online with the amount that is on the card. As long as you keep at least a dollar on the card or PP will remove it and may limit you.

My Visa Gift Cards are from Dubai and I can add an address on the Visa website. Also they are valid for 4 years but cash stored in it stays for only 1 year.
