Brand new site only 2 weeks old. Trying to keep it very varied in link types. This is my 30 day approach.

10 unique non spun web 2.0's
20 yahoo answer links
400 social bookmarks
50 wiki links
30 High Pr Blog comments
10 edu/.gov links
20 forum post signature links
20 press releases
5 video submission links eg Youtube,vimeo
5 Facebook links
5 article submissions
20 alexa/Paul links
5000 SB blast to all links.

Do you think this will be an effective approach on a brand new site? Do you think this is too much too soon? What else am i missing that is important? Any help appreciated

Good start i like the yahoo answers, video submissions for variance. It all though depends on your niche and how competitive it is. How many keywords you going for? How goo dis your onsite seo?

This is very nice diversion of the links. Looks like a solid strategy. Just don't forget to involve some nofollow backlins too.
And also depends on PR of you selected pages. I'll be wathicng your progress

Yeah i am trying to keep it very diverse. My competition is extremely low. But the sites ranked high are authority sites so it wont be an easy task. Ill keep you posted on results from this method.

Assuming you have some decent content I think you can blast it harder than that.

I am also not sure why you have so many bookmarks in comparison to other links. I would do more article directory submissions and web 2.0 stuff before that.

You have a good mix, I would just up some of the numbers of what you already have.

I have found social bookmarks to be very effective lately, I never do any less than 400. My content is very low. Only about 70-100 words on each page. About 25 pages total. There is no real way to ad content as the site is set up for local businesses to advertise on specific pages. But i need to be #1 before i even contact them

Ill only be doing about half of it. The rest will be paid for as i have about 5 other sites that need a lot of work done on them as well

Thats nice diversity . . . just make sure you use good web properties (tubmlr, wordpress, etc.). I'd add some really nice higPR private network links as well (blog posts, etc. ) buy em and have them go to your direct site. . . Lot of work. . but nice diversity.
