What to do with Site Comments
Hey guys.
As my site gets more and more popular, well, more and more people come to leave their backlink on it... Even though its PR0, I get around 20 people every day.
When I started the site and spam started flowing, I would rewrite the comments and post them. I think I did that for 250 comments. Then I came to BHW and realized that that was one of my most stupid and idiotic wastes of time I have ever done. I could have been writing content for the time I spend rewriting crappy comments and deleting backlinks.
My situation right now is that I have about 40 comments, which Akismet has stopped, and I don't know what to do with them. More are pouring in.
Is there any real point in unspamming those comments (of course removing the backlink before that)? Does that give me any SEO juice? Should I just remove the backlinks and post them? Should I rewrite them to match my content? Should I include my own deep pages into the Site field?
Maybe if a user comes and sees 10 positive comments it's more likely they'll convert?
What do you do with these comments and what do you suggest I do?

Re: What to do with Site Comments
Any of them that are blocked by Akismet are most likely just spam. Even if there were a couple that are not it is really not worth the time to go through all of them on the off chance you might find one or two good ones.
Delete them and move on..........
If you want to show a few positive comments a day more than you are getting than just write them yourself, probably easier then trying to rewrite spam posts.

Re: What to do with Site Comments
So having a lot of comments won't improve my SERPS? I thought if I linked those comments to innerpages it might be positive, but it's better to do that in the articles.
Anyway, that's too much work for no benefit, I think I'll delete them later today.
If anyone has ever had good results from having loads of comments, leave a reply, I'll appreciate it.

Re: What to do with Site Comments
I've seen some good results from pages which have generated natural, related comments in comparison to those that get none.
Some spam comments don't have links in, and are just testing your site out, i normally keep them, and permanently delete the ones with links or dodgy comments which make no sense. If there's a related one with a link i think it's worth keeping.
