Hey guys,

Did you notice that blackhatworld.com's PR is reduced from 4 to 3????

i don't know but it seems like this PR update has something against forums.

My month old micro niche site with just 7 pages of content is now PR1 from PRn/a and my forum with nearly 10,000 indexed pages dropped to PR1

I've seen some pretty erratic results with PR at this change...

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. None of my tracked SERPS rankings have changed; and about half the PR's have gone up and half have gone down.... go figure!

google you have to pay for that,,,

I think this PR update has done manually

My main site went from 5 to 2.

My newest site, roughly a month old went from NA to 3. Strange.

Pure Crazyness ---- My site went from 3 to 2 and most of my page tag's are PR2. how can a WP tag be pr2..I give up with google...

Goes to show how pointless PR is. I don't know anyone who has their income correlated to PR. I have no idea what the PR on any of my sites is.

Dude, high pr = lots of easy link money. I sold/sell so many high pr links on my sites that I probably earn more on link selling than most people here earn on adsense/anything else.

Basically your ignoring poteltial income if your ignoring your PR value DP or not.

I've even sold low pr links / posts(pr3) on niche sites for 125$ / yearly
Talk about easy money there.

Yep selling links is one way, I didn't really need to add that part.

What I really meant is: does anyone give a shit that BHW's page rank dropped? Opening a thread about it is the kind of thing they do on DP.

I've noticed that when PR changes occur, there's a lot of silly changes. You might notice PR drop for a week or two and then shoot up or vice-versa. Could be a perm change too, and in that case, google is stupid!

I know PR is (almost) useless, but hey... everyone gets happy to see a rise, and a little disspointed to see a fall in the number.

I'm actually amazed at the PR of site #2. I registered the site on 26 December, installed WP, and added 1-2 unique articles to it every 1 day. Did just a little SEO to it.

Damn! Google's boggling me.

EDIT: I see the The Shit List's PR is 2. Hmm...

My forum with over 100k indexed pages and also ranking for really good keywords has stayed at PR3. I was hopeing for PR4 or PR5 lol.

Then I have like 5 micro niches with 40 indexed pages go from PR0 to PR3 lol.

I'm tickled pink, all my customers sites went up, and my own sites even saw some internal pages go from PR0/1 to PR 3 and 4.

Same thing here, PR 0 to PR3 with 64 backlinks on a 6 month old, 5 page local hardwood flooring site. Weird.

Probably because of the terrible hosting.

If one of my sites dropped PR I would be looking at the following:

1. Have I linked out to any sites since the last update. If so, is the quality of that site lower than mine?

2. Has traffic from the search engines increased or decreased since this time last year.

3. Has the indexed pages increased or decreased in the past 6 months.

BHW is a great forum and has no reason to lose PR, my first impressions are stop linking out to lower quality sites, you don’t see DP or warrior forum doing that.

BHW's PR does not matter. That's for ppl in DP who want link juice out of an IM forum.
What people get out of this forum, all the information, methods, and help is what really matters.

I've only really learned in the last 6 or so months to not make so much fuss about Page Rank... it is only one of 200+ factors that make up how high or low a website's SERP's are. My main site is PR4 but I barely get 100 visits a day, but I do rank highly for a handful of search terms on my local Google search which is satisfying enough for me.

As for BHW's PR drop, this thread shouldn't have been posted here in the first place, maybe the lounge would have been a better section. So what if BHW dropped in PR, I bet BHW is still making hundreds of thousands in income even if the PR dropped a point.

What exactly did you learn about pagerank? People are often confused about the meaning of it. If a pagerank drop is nothing to worry about then you should not be practicing seo. I guess if BHW dropped to pr0 that would mean absolutely nothing in terms of rankings and se traffic right?

and some inner pages also went pr2/pr3 with no links and home page with a ton of links pr2.

All my domains stayed same except the one site that I do NOTHING with (last post December 2010!!) has gone from pr2 - pr3 --go figure??

I never said that PR dropping is nothing to worry about, it isn't the only SERP factor to obsess about... And why say I shouldn't be practising SEO? PR4 is not that bad considering I dont have a big budget like most people on here. I take as many SERP factors into consideration, not just PR alone. All bases need to be covered here.

I couldn't give less of a fuck about PR, never checked it before, but this thread made me check the PR of my latest website. I threw it up about 2 weeks back, around 40 backlinks, it's PR3.

The only use PR has really given me is the ability to sell backlinks and purchase services/software to help boost the other SERP factors.

This looks completely pathetic.But still my blog is at PR 0. No changes.

PR is crazy, I have sites with thousands of backlinks that get 3-400 uniques a day, that have a PR of 0
