Anyone had any experience with getting websites getting reconsidered? My site just got de-indexed and am interested in how long this takes to get back to normal

If you mean de-indexed as in you can't even find it typing site:domain.com, it may never come back. If it was extremely profitable though and you want to put some work into bringing it back again, read this article, how to resurrect a deindexed site.

Yeah, that's a good read. Another method you can try is give it a complete re-design, change registrars, change hosting, change whois etc, get a new GWT/Analytics account to make it look like it got sold to a new owner... THEN submit a reconsideration request.

Nice read there. Yes it is completely gone. The only page that comes up now when typing Site:--- is a flash page. The site has about 40 pages. All with small amounts of content on each. I had an affiliate link in the sidebar on all pages and one article that was dup content that i also made clear in the post. SEO has only been 11 High PR blog comments and a small amount of social bookmarking so it must be the onpage that is the problem. It was a site that is a directory site to connect local people to sports activites in the local area. My plan was to rank it to #1 then business could pay me to advertise their local buisness on the page. Do you think i am better off waiting around and keep updating the site and SEO or should i just move it all over to a new domain name and start again?

I usually get my sites reconsidered for malware in 1 day

If your site is deindexed because of malware on your site, it takes 1 or 2 days, but if your site had violated any of Google's TOS, it takes longer. One of my sites was deindexed because of duplicate content (My client made an exact replica of the site). It took 3 months to get it indexed again - after removing the duplicate site and asking for an apology to Google.

I think u should consider changing the domain name to speed things up. Do some proper keyword research, try get a EMD or at least a niche related domain. Host the domain on a different hosting account from the one that got de-indexed. Make sure all your one page SEO is up to scratch and then implement a proper back linking campaign.
