Market Samurai to Abandon Google for Bing.

Market Samurai says that Google's latest changes broke several parts of their program and they've had it. So they're switching to Bing.

That will be a total waste of time.
I want to be able to check and keep an eye on how I am doing in the google stats not Bing.

How can I check my site now?

I like how they wanted to spin that Bing is just as good...That is such bs.

Rank Tracker or AWR are the only two that work for my UK rank checking.

I was trying a demo for the first time in months to see how MS was these days.
..yep going to Bing is as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Dammit!.. Competition check in Bing= BS, even worse; they will not restore the rank tracking unless you'll pay a monthly subscription fee. This sucks donkey balls!

I have Market samurai and Articles Samurai (unfortunally they will not refund the market samuray price), but if the proplem still for the next week I'll cancel article samurai, when I started to use article samurai it was doing a good job, now it does not give you as much links as it gave before and it's taking forever for the article to syndicated...
The market samurai always did it's job but don't come and tell us BING is the same as google, Main job of the market samurai is to let you do keyword research and if you can NOT do it close the company.

I received an email from them saying that they will not be able to keep the price because of the changes they will need to do it... I think if your main product depends on google you should be able to fix changes made by google and everyone here knows that google change from time to time.

I'm on the 40 day challenge trail for MS, it worked great a week or so ago, now it's borderline useless. I won't be buying if they don't improve it back to what it was a week ago!

I've already shut down my MS tool. Te last results it provides really suck. Now I am getting back to keyword research by myself on Big G. It takes time but the results are relevant.

Well, lets face it, MS and its ilk crossed the line on Google's Terms and Conditions a long time ago. And while I've used MS for years, I've always questioned their market model and long-term viability. There is an ongoing cost for providing service - and I paid for my software, once, a long time ago. They should have switched to a subscription model a long time ago.

That said, I'm sure something will be worked out. There is a large pool of MS users that Raven or others could acquired for a fairly cheap price.

I'm crossing my fingers. But I'm also looking for MS alternatives.

WTF is bing???

the only time i hear about it was some months ago and i read somewhere that bing is a f*cked up and poor SE that copy google SERPS

for what type of features?

for keyword research, tracking and analising competition I am using atm:

seo power suite
sem rush
majesticseo
serpbuddy

I also have seoquake installed in firefox.

And recently I bought clyde's software which is the most powefull keyword research tool i ever seen in my all life.

I've used it for on about 2 years now and it's paid for itself many times over for me. I don't regret getting it and while it sux now, will have to see what they manage to do and/or what else is out there that can really do as well as MS has in past for me. ALL tools will be affected one way or the other when G changes things and it's not always easy to get back "up to speed" again.

As you've mentioned, this type of software (and not just MS either) will not last over time. I agree with you that MS should have gone to a subscription model from the beginning. People expect all software updates to be free for life these days. Keeping this kind of thing updated regular isn't cheap!

I use majesticseo for backlinks and micro niche finder for keyword competition. I always manually check keywords though because no tool gives me what I look for but mnf gives me a starting point.

I applaud this but lets be honest... 80% of my traffic still comes from G.

As much as I despise them, I will still market for G.

And unfortunately, right now traffic source for me is still G.

Its just more of the same crap all throughout the world of the working man, I believe they are well aware of the internet huslers and they want us all eating out of their hands...just more crap and redtape but we are of the most reslient demographics on and offline, were one of the main reasons google or bing even has such a marketshare

MS no doubt was incredible software when it came out, as RebelMaster said if you bought it years ago then it should have more than paid for itself many times if you used it right.

What i see as the main problem with MS is that their core architecture for gathering data is fundamentally flawed...and was bound to fail at some point...their problem is that instead of performing data gathering from the user's computer...they instead created massive servers that would gather the data on behalf of the users (servers that would constantly hammer google with requests day in and day out)...while this sounds nice on the outside that some other server is getting the data for you, it was only a matter of time before Google would catch on to this system and shut it down.

Google has recently become much more sophisticated in detecting bots (request timestamps, click tracking with timestamps, security tokens, and much more) which is evident in what happened to MS...basically the new stuff they have implemented is pretty much able to decipher between a human and a bot unless the bot is able to mimic exactly what a human does.

I myself experienced this in December with my Places Scout software (i'm the author) and had to pretty much rewrite all of my code to get around Google's new bot detection measures...before i was gathering data SERP data in parallel for my rank tracker, hitting their servers with multiple requests all at once...it was blazing fast and worked great for a while, but it was only a matter of time before they caught onto it and started serving up bogus SERP results that didn't match what was seen in the browser. The only way i have found that can produce accurate results 100% of the time from Google is to write code that does exactly what a human does, with built in random delays and all the other stuff they are now checking for.

The bottom line is that until MS adopts a model where they gather data from the user's computer that mimics what a human would do, they will never be able to get accurate data for their 400K+ user base. Google is just too good these days at detecting this from servers that do it on behalf of thousands of users.

Sucks that Google is a company that was built by scraping data from others, yet they are now doing everything they can to make it as hard as possible to get their data.

Yeah, this blows. I don't give a rats ass about Bing. I don't think i've even used it once. I have multiple sites that have hundreds of pages on them, that i used MS to check rankings for. It usually took under 10 minutes to kick out the whole report. I'm hoping that SEO Power Suite can hold strong.
You guys have any other recommendations for checking G rank on large sites?
