I am a real estate agent who just made a website. Since it is real estate and extremely local, I would think it would not be that hard to get it to page 1. Can anyone help a newbie to SEO?![]()

Hire someone local,I've deal with estate agents (as we call them in the UK) and have never heard of one building their own website in my life.
If you live in a VERY small town, yeah it'll be easy if you live in a medium sized town maybe not so easy. It's a competitive term, there is decent money to be made as you should know.
You need to get the site listed on as many real estate professional organisation sites as possible as well as local directories. These are the links you want as a new site.
Are you a professional estate agent or someone looking to rank for adsense or renting the site out,I've never come across an estate agent doing their own seo.
Anyway start of the type of links I've mentioned above.
use the search button for local seo and you will be on your way

Get yourself listed in yelp, yell and every directory you can these links will help your google places.Places is a combination of normal site seo and citations,For local business I'd take the top places over the top organic any day.
I usually submit my clients to over 150 directories, that alone can do the job for the top spot.Just google US business directories and join as many as you can. These are decent links from high PR sites. The page will be low PR but google knows you're a legit business so the more you join the better.
Google places reviews are important too,get your clients to leave a good review.

List yourself on all the local engines...then do a little back linking 1 senuke blast should cement you at #1 if there is not much competition...
Goto the Marketplace on this forum. There are a lot of people selling SEO link packages, read some reviews and buy one or a few. Don't mess around with your time. If its real estate $$$$ is big, so just drop a little flif and work on what your good at.
Hit that green 'Give Rep' or yellow 'Thanks' button when you read something you like.
