Default Can someone explain this for me?

    Hi all
I am researching for SEO competition with Market Samurai.
This picture is from SEO Competition module in Market Samurai when I analysis my keyword.

I have some question. As you can see in the picture above, the site on #2 has only about hundreds of BLP and BLD, but the site on #4 has a thousands of BLP and BLD - Why this site doesn't get in #1 or #2 because they have a lots of BLP and BLD than some sites above it. Can someone explain this for me why?
    Thank you very much.

It is to do with the quality of the links. #4 will have thousands of low quality links where as #2 has a hundred or so quality links.

By quality I mean contextual, high page rank, diverse links.
By low quality I mean just one type of link e.g. blog comments, profiles.

    Hope that helps.

its not about the number but the quality of the links.
those hundred links can definetly be higher pr than the thousands on site #4.

also alot of other factors such as on page seo and even the number of indexed pages of each site.

    Hope that helps

Thanks, once more question. Have a way to check the quality of that link?

There are few ways to check the quality depending on the number of backlinks there is to check. You can of course do it manually with scrapebox checking the PR of the pages, anchor text, and OBL but this takes time. So I prefer to use an automated tool called SEO SpyGlass, search the forum at the top right and you can download it here

It will tell you all of the information you need to basically out rank your competitor. It is a vital tool in my eyes..... check it out!

Backlinks is not a number game. You can get just ONE super backlink from a site like CNN and beat out guys who have 50k low quality backlinks. Google will throw the average webmaster site out of the SERP's like dirty tissue, when it has a site approved or endorsed by an authority site to show instead.

it is all to do with backlink quality, for example a ******** pr3 backlink is worth thousands of backlinks from pr0 sites.

He will have probably used some software like xrumer and blasted his site directly. This also lowers how much link value is worth on your site as he has categorised has site as a spammy blog so he will need even more high quality backlinks from his competitors to equal their rank.

So make sure you get those high quality links, they are worth it
