i'm looking for a good antivirus software to install does anyone know of any?

I use malwarebytes, superantivirus, and Keyscrambler

I would suggest you same, no need to crack it because license keys are easily available on internet.

use Microsoft security essentials its free and its the best, ( cant be used on cracked windows os)

Lots of educational facilities in UK have Sophos (or AVG) and Spybot Search & Destroy installed on public PCs.

I don't bother with Avast because they bug the heck out of you to renew your license even though it's free. I have AVG on my main computer and I've never looked back. It runs silent in the background until you need it and is superior to Norton IMO. Doesn't hog resources, doesn't prompt you unnecessarily, and always up to date.

Eset Smart Security is the best!

Try the free version of spybot search and destroy had that on my windows 7 system had no problems for over a year. i use to be in computer and laptop repair and use to recommend it to everyone if its more anti virus avg free.

ESET partnered with Malwarbytes and your set.

Avast - Changed management a few years back and has sucked ever since.

Comodo - Way too buggy, always blocking crap that doesn't need to be blocked

AVG - Very well known meaning people develop virus's, worms, trojans etc. to get around it.

TrenMicro - Have used free versions of other programs on peoples infected machines and found stuff that the paid version of TrendMicro missed. Not a good sign.

Norton - Great for old people and people that don't know too much about system security. Meaning, it simply cleans stuff when it detects something, you don't have to micro manage anything really i.e approve connections or the allowance of .exe files. It basically does the thinking for you. Down side, it does a lot without asking you so if you do torrents or questionable activities it might be annoying having it auto manage everything. It's like AOL used to be, once you install it, it gets into everything and sucks to uninstall.

Panda Cloud Antivirus. The first free antivirus from the cloud.

Kaspersky is the one I found to be the most reliable. Follow that with Eset-NOD32. Stay far, far away from Norton though. And also add Malwarebytes, and Hitman Pro to your arsenal.

Remember though that any antivirus is only useful against the KNOWN methods of attack. Hackers will always be one step ahead of them in the long run.

The very best antivirus is using your head and taking a proactive stance against getting malware.

bitdefender really the best

Anti virus is anti virus in my opinion. Virus's can slip through any of the listed AVs.

Just take your pick and browse sensibly

Depending on your internet service provider at least here in US most of them give you some sore of paid antivirus for free. So i would check with them first to see which one you would get. Also Malwarebytes is great to use and it's free.

I use AVG free and have never had any trouble, nice design too.

I have been using Panda Cloud for two years and never had an issue. And it's VERY lightweight! You just need to stay connected online for full protection.

Scan your HDs with Malwarebytes every now and then and you will be fine!

I used ESET for 3+ years and it does NOT protect you. Switched to Kaspersky and it picked up multiple trojans and worms instantly.

AVG is the best also i have tried NOD32 Not bad too

i left microsoft essentials due to it not being effective like it once was. After it gets shut down and I get infected WHILE it's active, I leave.
Avast now.

I used AVG Free before on a second computer, it worked real well

infact my laptop came with free norton and I uninstalled it and installed avast, only thing norton does is slow down ur comp, avast works in the background.

I have tried all of the free antivirus programs and i finally found one I liked: Avast Antivirus

It's a full version free antivirus (the upsell is for internet security etc which I can't stand).. it has done a good job keeping viruses off my computer, way better than any of the other free antivirus programs that I have tried (and I think I have tried them all)

+1 for ESET Smart Security 5.

with this version, the memory consumption is very low and still is very much effective to block virus and defective sites, So you can go run your SEO tools, browse with tons of tabs, program on IDE's or use photoshop without too much problems.

Previously eset used a good amount of memory making it very hard to multitask but now it seems its works well on the background lettting me use more memory.

Good old AVG hasn't let me down yet
