I just wanted to make this thread, not to show off, but just to say that there still are keywords with great CPC's and great Potential out there.

I've been looking for a keyword like this for ages, then while at work today something just hit me, so i made a mental note to look for this keyword (actually, this is a longtail of the one i thought of) and it's VERY beatable!




I won't say i've had massive success with SEO before, but i have an authority site which has extremely fierce competition, which i have in the top 10, and all of my other projects have good ranks with stronger competition than this keyword, so i know i can do well here

Only two of the top 10 are properly targeting this keyword, that's #8 and #6 and even those aren't heavily targeting this keyword apart from their onsite optimisation - They have no backlinks to those pages!


5,400 Exact searches per month on Google.com.
Potentially 2,268 clicks per month to the #1 ranked page.
Not interested in inTitle/inURL etc
£5/$7.80 Adwords CPC, Plenty of advertisers (& 92% in MS)
#1 Ranked site is an authority in this niche, but it is the homepage and is not targetted.
#2 Is a poor category page with little info.
#3 has very little info and is pretty much just a huge list full of 'Add to cart' buttons.
#4 is the HOMEPAGE of #3.
#5 is another homepage.
#6 is another load of 'Add to cart' buttons, but with a little more info besides each
You can sort of guess what the others will be like. :P

Another few things that are of great benefit:
-It is a huge buyers niche, most of the people who search for this term will likely be looking to purchase, though a good portion will still be looking for some information about it.
-There seems to be an abundance of affiliates for this.
-It's 'slightly' related to my authoirty site, so i should be able to link across (Different hosting, Different name on Whois, so it's all safe).


Ofcourse i won't know how this will turn out yet until i get going, but at the moment i've just purchased new hosting and the exact match domain, aswell as the .info EMD because it was 30p - why not, lol :P
To protect the keyword i think i'll do my own article writing, it takes me ages but i can usually put together a pretty top quality, highly knowledgable article.
I have plenty of related and longtail keywords, so should be able to build a decent sized site, but i will start out as a MNS first without adsense, then add adsense later while building up into a 'small authority'.


Don't give up on keyword research just yet, think about something you're interested in, or your favourite hobby, research that then if it's no good - branch out from it and research things that are similar but uncommon, if you still have nothing then try looking around at popular everyday items and see if you can find something like that, don't stop until you find something that just hits you!

How i found it was literally as i said;

I found a popular, every-day item that i'm interested in and in my mind branched out from all of the 'keywords' that are commonly used when you think of this item, trying to find a 'niche within a niche' - Something uncommon that people should still be aware of - I essentially just did normal keyword research within my head.

Look around at anything and everything that sells while you're out shopping or out at work and see if you can do some keyword research in your head, you'll see lots of things you probably wouldn't think of while at the computer typing in random keywords into Market Samurai, and like this you may find things that other people haven't found and 'exploited' before.

There are still loads of keywords like this where the EMD hasn't been taken, I've been researching keywords as I plan to offer it as a service here soon, and I have hundreds which meet my requirements having enough searches and high enough CPC. I have quite a lot with more searches than yours, and a lot with higher CPC as well. Just requires some out of the box thinking

well done mate go for it, for everyone else, there are hundreds of keywords out there, just think about what you might need in your daily life, and what your likely to search for in google, and then see if you can start your micro niche. One of my keywords emanated from a problem i personally had and voila checked up on it and its got around £2.50 CPC around 5,400 GMS and rated relatively easy on Traffic Travis.
I also found a keyword with a CPC of £32 yes thats right £32, and at EXACT match, shame it only had less then 300 GMS.

After doing some more keyword research I'm absolutely amazed to see that this niche isn't anywhere near as competitive as it should be.
It's as if pretty much noone has thought about targeting these keywords because the item is so big and so popular that you would expect that it'd be impossible to tap into, but that's not the case.

I've found another ~25 keywords which could bring in a potential 40k-50k/month visitors for pages ranked #1, with half of those keyword having a CPC of more than $2.50 and a few of them with CPC's over $3.50, these keywords are the minimum i'm going to target as they have pretty much no competition and green across the board in Market Samurai.

I'm setting up the site shortly once the hosting is ready to go and i'm starting to get some articles done, which i'm going to post one every day for 10 days, then one every other day for 10 posts and then add an extra day in between each post for every 10 posts after that.

I need to find some royalty free images and try to get some proffesional videos to help promote the site too.
Other than that i'll make one really high quality Web2.0 page targeting the main keyword and pointing to the homepage, after that i'll wait and see how i rank for the other keywords without any more offsite SEO and then gauge how much effort i'll need to put into linkbuilding.

On site SEO will consist of a keyword density around 3-4%, Keywords in all of the title and meta tags and ofcourse using Bold/Underline/Italics with SEOPressor.

I was thinking i could do a ranking case study on adding high quality content on a regular basis, would it be best to make a separate thread for that?
