What means low competition in SERP's for you?
Hi,
I have troubles at finding keywords with low competition in Google and I'm opening this thread because I want to know what means low competition in Google for you.
I mean for what are you looking when you are analyzing the Top 10 competition and how do you approach if is a bad or a good keyword to go for it. I'm finding keywords with 10k - 20k local monthly searches (US) but the big thing is I don't know how to analyze the competition.
Also If some tools are needed I'm ready to buy them. I see threads about Market Samurai, Traffic Travis etc. but even with reports from these tools I don't know if is a bad or good keyword. LOL
Hope somebody can give me some hints.
Thank you.

Re: What means low competition in SERP's for you?
Market Samurai, Traffic Travis etc.. aren't effective at all in my opinion.
It's best to check the competition thoroughly by first finding the top 10 and doing a manual analysis on all of them.
*Check for the quality/quantity of the backlinks
*Check the pages on-site SEO. Is it optimized? Keyword density? Images? Alt tags? Meta Keywords?
*Check if the content on the sites are original.. is it unique? How well is the content written?
*Check for the overall authority of the site(s). [PR, Age, how many pages are indexed on Google, lots of content?]
Cliffs:
Analyze the Top 10 ranking websites and see if you can beat them.
Factors to look at:
Off page SEO. (80%)
- Backlinks Count
- Backlinks Type/Quality
- PR
- Domain Age
On page SEO optimization. (20%)
- Keywords in Title
- Keywords in URL
- Keywords in Description
- Keywords in H1 tag on front page

Well see how many backlinks they have, how quality they're, is it new site or old, what articles they have (uniqueness, kw density etc..), how many pages the site got etc..
