Default black hat with Squido

i've been setting up some stuff on squidoo to get top rank. I've succeed to get a very good rank under 2 days for two of my keywords in the health and medicine section. The thing is there's no visiter coming at all. I think i should link some article to it.it might rank me higher in the search engine. so what do you guys think.

Are you keywords the kind that get searches?
If so how many?
What position in google are you?

If your asking us what we think then I suspect you may not know
what your doing. Are you going for just traffic? I assume your going
for sales although you did not say that.

#1 Affiliate Mistake

Building sites/pages/lenses/whatever on keywords that don't make sales.

So have you test the keywords and determined their is a buying market
with enough searches to allow you to get a piece of the action.

Or are we just swinging in the breeze here?

There is no reason to write articles if you already said you got rank. If your on the front page and nobody is visiting you one can only assume you have shit for keywords. So do your market and keyword research first, before ever making a lense.

Had you done that, these questions would not be asked. But it's cool because we are all here to learn.

Squidoo rank doesn't really mean anything. You need to get ranked in the search engines if you want traffic. I have had lenses with a great squidoo rank but no traffic. I have had those same lenses drop like a rock with squidoo but, show up on google and yahoo and BAM, people come to visit. I actuall have a lense that squidoo's filters will not let me edit because it may be" dare I say it, SPAM . It still gets visitors and it makes sales lol so bottom line is Squidoo rank is worthless.

So it's all about the right keyword and putting them in your page and getting backlinks from articles.

If your lens's are only 2 days old I wouldn't expect them in the search engines if you haven't done any linking (even if your squiddoo ranking is good).

Lot's of social bookmarking will both increase your squiddo ranking AND get you indexed.

If you've got something like bookmarking demon that should be enough to lift your rankings inside squiddoo.

do a keyword research and make sure the keyword you are targeting has some demand
also make sure the keywords you are targeting are not seasonal(even in health sector some keywords are seasonal)

Simple formula for using squidoo or any other "authority" type site.

First - A quick summary of why you want to use authority type sites. These sites have a huge trust factor with the major search engines. A squidoo lens with 200 incoming links will almost always out rank a webpage on an average domain with the same number of links. So, the object is to leverage their trust factor and get them to rank by creating incoming links to them.

1) As Ruck said, use keywords that make money. Best way to collect keywords is using a tool like wordtracker or keyworddiscovery.c**om/searc*h.html (remove *'s) to find variations of the keyword you want to target. Looking at the results you can make some initial assessments about which terms will likely make sales and which won't.

2) Take you list of keywords that you think have potential and run some PPC ads for them and track the ones that result in sales. Don't make assumptions on this based on 20 or 30 click thru's, I would suggest 100 plus but you may feel comfortable with more or less. Note - in some markets such as gambling and pharmacy you have to use your experience or do research on what terms other blackhatters are targetting as it is difficult to find a good ppc program that will allow these types of ads.

3) Create a lens on squidoo or page on on other authority site like reddit or whatever. Use your keywords in the page you create. For examples, query yahoo.com for a money term like "buy viagra" etc. and there will be results from others using this strategy. Check out their page and see how they are using their keywords on the page. Do what they do, learn by example.

4) Here's the key point > point links to your newly created page or lens. Incoming links are the #1 most important way to get your page ranked high in the search engines. You can use bh tools to automate this process. Do a search on here for submitters, trackbacks etc. to see what's available. If you want to do this more whitehat, then write some articles and use an article submitter or service to get your articles distributed which well get you those much needed 1 way links.

5) Rinse and repeat for more keywords on new lenses/pages.

Hope this helps.

Yes, but it's also where you're posting your article to. You should read/study Ruck's article about this on his blog. (see the Parasite SEO post).

Comments and rating are 2 different things. Again the rating really doesn't mean a thing. The comments will get you more backlinks.
