Is anybody having problem with Hotmail forwarding? Or it just me?
It stopped working at 4:30 pm EDT

Thanks.

I've been having an intermittent problem with hotmails forwarding to gmail.

Most times the forwarding works fine.

Sometimes it takes an hour or two for the email to get from hotmail to gmail.

Sometimes it takes 2 days for the email to get from hotmail to gmail.

I have no idea what is causing the issue or how to resolve it.

Same here, its happening for the past 1 month. I forwarded mails from hotmail to gmail. Its taking hrs to deliver also some of my mails not even forwarding. I got shocked seeing it and stopped forwarding.
Also, its taking long time when you send a email from hotmail to gmail.

Kick hotmail!

That is worrying. Mail forwarding shоuld bе reliable.

Works good to my own domain. Why would you forward to gmail? Just get cheap .info and setup it on cpanel for POP3/IMAP access.

I like the gmail HTML view, but I am always open to new ideas though.

I am not sure if this is a gmail problem or hotmail issue. This possibly could have something with the sender or the content in the email.

you can use thebat! to pop the hotmails or imap (if allowed by hotmail)them, then have thebat! forward the emails reliably to any email address of your choice. You just need a computer that you can run thebat! on reliably 24/7.

i did a youtube tutorial on how to use thebat if you search here you will find it.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Another question on hotmail forwarding:
Would potential spam emails automatically be forwarded by hotmail?

I believe (can't say for sure) it's more of a gmail issue, since forwarding to emails on my domains is almost instant, whereas forwarding to gmail yields unpredictable results.

Is there a reason you have to use hotmail at all? I ask because I stopped using it years ago after having problems pretty much identical to the ones you and others have mentioned on here, and seems it hasn't improved much in the interim period. I would honestly just move what you can off hotmail and kick it to the kerb. Gmail is a ton more reliable if you must use a webmail service.

Unless you're absolutely tied to hotmail for some reason, your best bet is to stop using it. They've been pulling this to a greater or lesser extent for at least eight years and something tells me they're not focussed on making it much better.
