When you want to rank for a keyword, and you write an article on your website optimized for that keyword.

When you create backlinks, do you use :

keyword
yoursiteLink

or

keyword
yoursiteLink/article

it's in a separate category

mysite/category/article

Is the article on your homepage?

My guess is no if he's asking whether to directly link to said article, or to his homepage. lol.

I guess it really depends on what page you're looking to rank, if you're looking to rank the page with the article on it, then build links to that page, if it's the homepage, make sure your homepage is optimized for said keyword, and build links to your homepage.

exactly :)

Well my domain name is not an exact keyword search. So i'm trying to rank just pages from the complete website

hmm, it would be easier to rank inner pages if your home page was well ranked.

Add an article to your homepage and optimise for that. Then for other keywords direct link your articles :)
