SEOV <-- Do you use it?

SEOV is the value of traffic the #1 ranking site supposedly get. The actual value is different on a niche by niche basis.

There are different school of thoughts regarding what percentage of the traffic do the #1 ranking site gets.

Some says 42%, some says 50%.

Do you think it's even necessary in a KW tool? Would 50% be good to use?

SEOV = Search Count * Avg CPC * 50%

Don't forget to deduct google adsense cut in the equation. You get 60% of the average cpc not full. And the CTR also.

2000 searches a month so 1000 of them will get to your site from google and with 5% CTR then you get 50 clicks on adsense ads and if cpc is 1$ then you get 0.6$*50 = 30$/mo

Can make it even more complicated if you consider that not all the clicks will be from the US but 30$ is rough estimate that you can use.

value = searches * 50% * cpc * 60% * CTR
That would give you a close estimate

You're right. Right now we have two search values (Global/Local) so I guess Local Searches will be used. The Avg CPC is already an average value so I'm thinking that value should be good to go.

Another problem is not everybody will be monetizing with AdSense so perhaps Local Searches * Avg CPC * 0.50 should be enough? or perhaps I'm missing something.

Those not monetizing with adsense will not use this parameter at all. They will care more about competition stats like allintitle and others...

Right, but you mssed ctr, which is click through rate of your page.

0.50 is the CTR from the SERP to your page.

and 0.60 is from..? I don't know why you brought 0.60 up lol.

According to this, SEO Researcher, #1 site gets 56% of the traffic (http://www.seoresearcher.com/distribution-of-clicks-on-googles-serps-and-eye-tracking-analysis.htm).

The avg AdSense CTR is 5%.
