Anyone else slapped by google for this plugin?

I have a site that was getting over 1000 unique visits everyday until about May of this year. It had the "SEO search terms tagging" plugin on it, and since then I have read of at least a few other BHW members that have attributed a harsh google slap to this plugin.

I have now taken it off of the site, and although some people might say to just edit the plugin to remove it's footprints:

1) I don't know all that much about editing plugins

and

2) I'm pretty sure even if you did remove the footprints, that the site wouldn't pass a manual g review with that plugin running on it. Actually, I'm pretty sure that that's exactly what happened to my site, as I was running the plugin with no problems form like 6 months to a year before I noticed a big drop in visits / traffic from google.

My question then is:

How many of you have noticed something similar with either this or another plugin and did your sites come back after you removed the offending plugin? And if so, how long did it take for the site to start ranking / getting good traffic again?

Also, if there were any steps that you took / strategies that you used to get your sites back up and running, please share them here!

I'm using this plugin but haven't noticed any significant decline in traffic. However, I limit the list to 5, no links, no adding to post tags. Basically, I only use it to monitor the keywords that bring traffic to my site. Then again, I'm planning to take it down because getclicky offers the same functionality plus more.

I had the links at like 10, and also no post tags either. You may want to wait and check to see if people's blogs have been slapped for getclicky before you go ahead and use it!

Using it on hundreds of sites. Along with adsense and amazon. My 2 cents:

How long have you been using it? And is your site getting enough traffic / growth to warrant a manual review?

I've been using this plugin for quite a while and letting it add tags.
No punishment from big g although i've had to be careful as i noticed a while back i started getting traffic for "random teen celeb" nude & "random teen celeb" tits. Which isn't very good when the site is aimed at teen girls.

Quick delete of the tags and some more profanity added to the filter and we're all good though

Haven't experienced any penalties, but I have had a few sites where it doesn't seem to update the keyword list. I can see the incoming search terms in the plugin admin screen, but they don't show up on the front end of the site. Maybe something to do with caching : shrug :.
