Default blog commenting. Waste of time?

I have been using commenthut to use for backlinks for blog commenting. Then I was told these links are useless because they have 'rel=nofollow' in the source code which means it wont influence your page rank. So am I wasting my time?

Who told you that they return nofollow blogs?

I am not familiar with the software but I was under the impression that it returned dofollow blogs? Am I mistaken? As far as legit blogging, I can't tell you how important it is to effectively comment other people's blogs. Most of the time I seek out blogs that have money making owners maybe not as advanced and I do my best to provide a kickass comment and *steal* their readers.

well actually I was told that blog commeting may come up with nofollow, which is Something I'm not aware of until now, so I just assumed all blogs are nofollow. Wasn't actually refering to the software itself

nofollow on outgoing links. You should know Davidmann that blogs with built in traffic will have users still seeing your comments, AND that not all the search engines obey the nofollow rule. It is in my own testing that Yahoo will add it as a backlink anyway. The thing really is to start commenting and then say a week later go to linkpopularity.com and check out the yahoo results and you will know if what your time is worth. Google is really finicky when it comes to showing your backlinks but I betcha when you start commenting that deeper indexing will start to occur and at faster rates as opposed to NOT commenting, which would lead us to believe that Google is also following the links as well.

Paul Forcey is a good guy and the dude he works with is cool as well. Give it a go for about a week and keep us updated.

SO do we have a verdict on this? Does commenthut filter out nofollow blogs?

Answered my own question. No it does not filter them out. Too bad.

Some blogs don't have nofollow ! But will need time to view thru the page source. I do comment on those blogs selectively, and the links do shows up from those page with PR.

U r right, yahoo just capture and show all of it. It doesn't care about nofollow. It doesn't even care if my domain is banned in the G . They are just ...yet another SE

Hi --

I have been using Comment Kahuna. The latest version find blogs that are NOT using the
"no follow" tag with the comments. I noticed just after a week, I went from #41 to #10 in yahoo on the keyword I used to comment with. So it seems like it is working. Its a free download.

I also like the fact that the blogs load right in the app and the blogs that it find all have recently been posted to.

sometimes it's not about backlink only. it's about traffics and as Ruck said, you will someday steal most of the loyal readers. this is leverage.

I also thought that google doesnot consider NO Follow Links....but I did a research and found that google do consider it if the links comes from major blogs via comments...for this I did an experiment commenting in top 100 webmaster blogs and to my surprise most of the links are credited and my SERP improved...so its worth in a way and if you find that blog commenting is taking a lot of time get someone to do it for you and BTW do it manually and dont use any tools and also dont just spam blogs...that wont work too
