Default Using Proxies...

I have been looking at ways of automating rotation of proxies. It seems that Tor comes highly recommended. I d/l and installed Tor/Privoxy today, although it seemed to work ok when using through Firefox it slowed my connection down dramatically.

I have an (up to) 15mbps connection, which tends to get to around 4mbps on most speed tests that I do, however when I tested with tor enabled I was only getting 0.3mbps which was tediously slow and not very practical.

Any suggestions on way to speed up Tor or other solutions ?

Someone recommended http://uniqueinternetservices.com/ who have their own proxy firewall software and then rent use of their proxies for between $25 and $50 per month. (I have no affiliation to this company)

Would this be a better solution or are they likely to be as slow as Tor proxies ? Has anyone used this service and can give a review or maybe there is another alternative ?

Cheers

David

IT doesn't really matter your speed when you use random proxies as TOR doin'.
If in rotation comes a proxy from Africa or Pakistan or other countries with small high speed infrastructure then you'll be reduced to the speed of that connection
I haven't used their services but I've used VPN services and I'm happy with

What you can do is change your identity until you find one that speeds it up again. Changing an identity will cost you 1 second.

Also Tor is slow when you start it, after 5 minutes it will get faster.

Hi David,

I have started a new thread on speeding up TOR a bit. You can find it here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...ng-up-tor.html

Also, I've used uniqueinternetservices. They are good. I find their Proxy Firewall software to be useful for rotating proxies even if you don't subscribe to their services.

You might want to make sure their TOS doesn't specify their service is for non-commercial use only.

I had a problem with losing all my money for a 1 year subscription to another service called socksify. They waited until I renewed for a year, then revoked my account. Then wouldn't give a refund and used Paypal's rules to cheat me out of the money. Paypal doesn't give refunds for subscriptions, even if you have 364 days left on the subscription for a year of service. This allows people to abuse paypal's rules.

So be careful subscribing to a paid service; and read the TOS.

I would recommend uniqueinternetservices and TOR, but not socksify.

Chris
