I'm reading through all of the forums trying to learn but I wonder if anyone has put together an e-book or offered the material on a website. A place for newbs to go that have a lot of questions about blogging and article submitting and what a 2.0 blog is. If the information is not already in one central location, you guys should be doing some writing. I haven't a good source yet.

Basic stuff like that is all available on YouTube.

Still hoping someone has an e-book or can provide me sites with general info on why people create articles, pros and cons of blog posting, you know, just general stuff on why you guys do the stuff you do.

This forum doesn't tend to be about creating how to guides. I think you'll find other forums geared toward creating basic content to sell to people looking for nice clean basic guides (whether those guides are worth anything is another discussion).

The great thing about this forum is that people share ideas, experience and thoughts. People come up with their own twists, test the method and often share what worked and what didn't work. Not everyone agrees on everything and you will often find similar case studies where the members come to different conclusions.

The best thing you can do on this forum is to read and take notes. There are a lot of things in the download section (look for things that have a lot of stars ranking the post). Use the search function or you can search the site via Google using site:blackhatworld.com + your keyword.

If you search the forum, you are more likely to find more than you even were looking for versus asking basic questions that have been asked many times.

To answer your question in a nutshell:

1. People around here usually use article marketing to point contextual links toward the site they are trying to rank or to web 2.0 properties pointed at their site.
2. Web 2.0 properties are blogs and microblogs like Squidoo, Hubpages, Tumbler, etc. Go to Targethut.com to find a huge list.
3. There is no con to writing readable useful content on your blog, but if you write crap or post non-unique content on your site, you probably won't rank as well after the Google Panda updates.
